    Possible without dropping the tank?

Done some searching through archives but cannot find enough information.

Looking at getting the compliance insert welded in as the sealant has failed twice now.

That's cause you haven't used Epoxy ribbon/ Knead-it to fit it on......

Pull the insert out, Roll the ribbon into a medium sausage, refit it and bang it quickly back into the neck with a rubber hammer so the ribbon flattens and seals.

    Will never come out again....

Yes you can. If you are worried jack one side of the car up. Ensure there is very little in the tank.

Yeah, mine's in with quik-steel after pouring fuel everywhere a while back, pretty solid.

When using silicone based sealants you need to make sure you're getting one rated for direct contact with fuels.

I tried a fuel tank epoxy last time. Thought this time round I'd pull the welder set out and set it right.

Got the filler neck out without dropping the tank, absolute mammoth. Now to get it back in.
