Hi guys, just out of curiosity, is it possible to remove the back seats in a 2+2 without incurring any problems to the car in the future and am i wrong in assuming it will create more boot space? Is it difficult to do it yourself or recommended to be done by a workshop? Has anyone done this and any cost estimates?
I was just thinking of this when looking for a Z as I have found alot more 2+2's compared to a 2 seater.
Oh, also did the Z ever come in a hardtop, or have the few that ive seen advertised been converted from a targa? I havnt been able to find anything saying there was a hardtop version, only targa and convertible.
    Thanks for any advice!

have a look at some photos on the web.

But quickly. Hard top was avaible in the 2 seater only and is a bit rare to find and If I remember right manual version only.It also is the lightest of all zeds.

The 2+2 has a slightly bigger interior than the 2 seater and it dosnt have the fuel tank in the middle of the car taking interior room up.The 2+2 seats fold forwards and you be surprised what you can carry in the car.

the 2+2 has a rear interior light and full sized space saver spare tyre as well.

One thing I dont understand is.....

why does the 2+2 come with a boot light and the 2 seater does not??? A boot is a boot so why omit the light?? If anything the 2 seater should have gotten the light because the boot is deeper and potentially darker in low light conditions...:) and while I'm at it, no adjustable steering column??? and why does the ignition barrel only light up when you turn the lights on or are driving??? wouldnt it make more sense to have it light up when you unlock the door so you can see where to insert the key?? Ok, I'll stop there but there are more.... dont even get me started on the series 1 climate control....

    Cheers

Series 2 allows better control on what vents you want the air to come

Can you change the CCtrl from series 1 to series 2 easily?

Also, I have read somewhere that some Zs have a light surrounding the key hole so that when you pull on the door handle the key hole lights up so you can see where to put the key, it makes life easier.
