hey Rob am about to buy the braille B2015 Casing: Polymer Plastic Weight: 15 lbs Length: 6.8 Width: 3.4 Height: 6.1 Pulse Cranking Amps: 1067 Cranking Amps: 574 Cold Cranking Amps: 425 Amp Hour Rating: 21 Battery Type: Seaed Rechargable Deep-Cycle Mounting: Vertical or Horizontal its the best power vs weight battery I can find unless you know any other?
I think the Braille are your best bet, I have the 550cca one. Tiny little things though, not much reserve capacity. No more listening to the radio with the engine off!
Must be Z battery season! I just bought a new battery for mine yesterday. I did a search in the tech section and saw the review on the Supercharge Gold MF80D26L. Rang the company and found a local supplier. He delivered it to my work a couple of hours later for $165. As I dont use the Z that often (very very little over the last 6 months due to house reno taking ALL my spare time) I have a Battery Defender hooked up to it all the time when in the garage, starts first time except when the battery finally collapses. I think the last battery was around 6 years old!
I got a Yuasa NS70ZX from Battery World back in Jan 2006 $180 delivered and fitted to a 300ZXTT. It's been excellent and have never looked back...
No idea but the amount of current the starter draws is different to measuring cold cranking amps. CCA rating has a time, temp, and voltage factors involved. I can measure cranking though if someone wants to drop around in a running Z32
I think you're right about Z battery season! My Optima R34 just died, never had a problem with it for 3 years & 2 months then kaput! Basic rule concerning batteries: Get the largest one you can fit in there, the more CCA's the better.
I got a century blue top battery im preety sure.... its been in there since i've had the zed so thats 3 years, don't know how long it was in there before. It's bone dry, i checked it 6 months ago and it was dry so i though better not top it up because that would kill it. So i never topped it up and its still fine. I also got a big sound system which i leave on without the engine running when working in the garage, left it on once for 5 hours, obviously not full blast, but it turned over first go. Nothing is killing this battery i better not jinx myself lol
Just got the battery installed. Wanted to get optima D34 but lowest I could find is $365.00. Bought Odyssey 35-PC1400 Battery instead for $330.00 820 CCA with 3 years warranty. Fitted perfectly. RRP for this battery is $430.00. I was lucky enough to use trade account. •Drycell Battery •Without Metal Jacket •12 Volt •55 Ah @ 10hr rate •820 CCA •1400 Cranking Amps for 5 Seconds •125 Minute Reserve Capacity •Cycle life @ 77° F 400 at 100% DOD •-40° F to 140° F Temperature Range •Made in the USA http://www.batterymart.com/p-ody-35-pc1400.html
I tried a Supercharge last time... ...didn't have much choice it was all that was available at the time. Was dead in just over 12mths
Well my Jan 2006 Yuasa NS70ZX 520CCA from Battery World got a sniff of colder Melbourne weather a few weeks ago and technically was dead. But a free recharge at my daughters local garage gave it another few weeks. Not sure if I left a door ajar or it's just the alarm drawing current but finally died over the weekend. Went back to Battery World for another Yuasa but this time they wanted $215 for the battery + $45 to call out and fit. 2 year warranty. RACV for a 600CCA battery (#2544) with a 3 year guarantee (full replacement) was $175 fitted. So higher capacity, additional 12 months warranty and full replacement went with them.
