Just curious as to know if a rear wing (on a track such as sandown) would actually be benifical? or on any track....secondly, is the hitech ecu plug and play or do u need to get it tuned? + can u have a switch on a hitech which alows you to go from low to high boost? (ei. simple up/down switch)Cheers,Red Z.

    Downforce

A proper wing that produces downforce (not something just for looks) should be of benefit. As a rough rule of thumb, a 1% increase in downforce is worth in track times a 10% loss in drag.Hitec is plug and play, yes you can adjust boost on the fly, it will handle it fine.Ben

    drag?

I thought more downforce means more drag and this means limiting top speed. I dont know about this affecting acceleration because theoritically, more downforce means more traction but more drag too. Please elaborate, Blipman. For example Mosler Photon has very good acceleration (400hp, 1000kg), besting Murcielago and Viper by miles, but top speed is very limited due to excessive drag. While the Murcielago can exceed 300kmh.

    To elaborate

I'm talking about downforce improving grip and therefore braking stability, corner speeds and exit speeds. While increasing downforce typically introduces additional drag there is a high speed trade off in a straight line, the point I was making is that the trade off is on most race tracks very much in favour of more downforce. That is (as I said), a very minor increase in downforce in terms of lap times outweighs a possibly large increase in drag, and therefore higher downforce in simple terms is a faster way to go around a race track?Did that help?Ben
