Have finally gotten around to getting rid of the rear spoiler, the new third brake light works fine, but I get a fault light every time I put my foot on the brakes, any ideas what is wrong?:(

Have you checked that all your brake lights are working?

It's probably a blown globe. What fault light comes on, the stop/brake one? Otherwise, it also comes on if the resitance has changed, are you using the same spec bulb as you were before?

    Cannot see any blown globes?

And used the standard Nissan OEM third brake light?

If you still have the old wing lying around can you rip out the thrid brake light and plug it in to see if that stops the error? The system measures resistance and that is how it senses when a globe blows. I was always under the belief that it ignored the center mount brake light.

    BigCol That's what she said...

I've had a similar issue. All the globes would light up as expected, but replacing them made the problem go away. Clearly a case of a globe on the way out.
