    You'd go with reving the bejeezuz out of it rather than stroking it and bringing the compression way up?

    If you put hydraulic lifers in would the give you the option for more revs? This is how Mr Duccati solved this problem on his engines when reving to high, and finding the srings couldnt keep up. So he (i cant remember if he invented) used hydraulic lifers ;)

    Ahhhhmmm... sry m8, going to shoot you down but not even close on any counts!!!

    Firstly, hydraulics are usually the first item to LIMIT rpm.

    The Ducati solution back in the day was to employ what is called Desmodromic valve actuation. Hence the the Moniker "Ducati Desmo"
    Desmodromic system is a positive (2 way) valve actuation and employs both an opening AND a closing rocker each running on their own dedicated cam lobe.
    Desmodromic valve actuation was NOT invented by Ducati and was being used successfully in the very early 1900's Grand Prix cars.
