well, as some of you may know my car is goin off the road to get a bit of cosmetic and proformance surgery. now been hunting around for cars and by chance the guy that i work with happens to be a speedway driver and is selling a VK commo. now i dont like commo's but this is about as close as i can get to a nissan for a while coz shes running a rebuilt RB33E and gearbox, also shees a calais so leccy windows and cruise... $700 pretty sure i cant even buy one lonesome engine for that much, and the cars in mint condition! now how hard is a headswap to a twin cam money that i saved buying this... anyway to the question.. any1 know how reliable these things are? zeds goin off the road because of jap engineering (not saying that theres something wrong with jap 'neering) but i dont want to buy something thats goin to leave me with two dead cars :S as is she runs sweet and only done 1000kays since rebuild. opinions appreciated, Cheers, Jadyn edit: correction, RB30E
if its been rebuilt and nothing is wrong with it.. cooling system is fine.. should last for another 15-25 yrs..
yer thas what i was thinking.. and this guy knows his stuff so hoping i can trust him. i just want my poor zed back on the roads all done to tell the truth
did u say the cars 700....im a bit tired at 1am so if im sounding stupid ignore me.....if its 700 what is there to lose...
he bored out a rb30e? rb30e block weak enough hence why its not worth making a rb30det vs just boring/stroking a rb26/25, weak block on the old engine. but yes its not supposed to be that difficult to fit the twin cam head on it. if your just gunna keep it as NA it should be fine, but if u just want a DD may aswell leave it as is
