Can anyone out there shed some light on an easy way to remove the radiator overflow bottle? We want to clean it Thanks!!!!
I'm thinking this will be a front bar off affair. I've had my front bar off a few times, and it seems easy to do with it off, not sure if it can be done / is easy to do with the front bar on. -Kirill
its a pia,it has an overflow valve on it so id suggest boiling water,a bottle brush and cut loose You can keep filling it up and it will just come out the valve What makes you think it needs a clean ??
They do get grungy after so many years,i suggest the bottle brush method You could also take off the little overflow hose going to the radiator neck if you wish, but not necessary If you dont want to go to that much trouble, just give it a good flush(dont forget to fill it back up)
Bottle out What I did was, Take the passenger side front wheel off, remove the inner guard plastics ( only the front section ) then you can access the overflow bottle, 1 screw and 2 clips from memory, remove hose from radiator and the filler neck to remove the bottle. once removed I filled it with water and some course sand and shook the sh#t out of it until it was reasonably clean, make sure you clean all the sand out before replacing the bottle. make sure the hose from the radiator is clear by diconecting on the radiator end and blowing compressed air up or down the hose. Hope this helps, Andy
Sounds like something we could handle over here ;-) We might be able to muddle through that!!!! Thanks, Andy
