Hey guys, just want to double check, all those radiator hoses at the back of the engine, the ones used to keep the throttle bodies warm at low temps / climates on start up... are they the hoses people talking about when doing heater core bypasses ??? there's like these 11 or so little hoses near the fire wall, one of mine leaks and i wish to replace / possibly bypass

Just want to double check that we talking about the same thing, cause i am reading posts about internal heating and all this, but i am after either replaceing or bypassing the leaking hose that is at the back of the engine near the firewall... if someone could point me to a good link in tech that would be sweet, as to be honest when i search it, i'm not 100% sure that's what i need to do with mine.

    Thanks guys

    hpcoolahan back to boost ...yay

Here you go , but which hoses are leaking at the moment ....bit unclear do you mean heater hoses or the under plenum hoses??

this should cover both for you .

The heater core bypass stops coolant passing to the heater code inside your dash (what heats the air when you set your heater to warm).

The throttle body bypass removes the hoses under the plenum (the big silver thing on top of the engine).

There are coolant hoses at the back of the engine which are part of the cooling system and can't be bypassed. They will need to be replaced.

I just had a flash of your future, it involves a plenum pull. haha :)

Best thing about having a mech in the family, is they do plenum pulls in their sleep.

I haven't pulled anything as yet >.< so i'm not sure what i'm looking at, but i am 90% sure its the throttle body hoses, not heater core, which is why i was getting 'confussed' as when i asked people about the throttle hoses / cold start up hoses, they all started talking about doing a heater core bypass... so yeah wasn't sure if maybe i am worse then i thought and got it all around the wrong way

THAT IS a brilliant tech link, thanks heaps, lots of pretty pictures to boot, will have a closer look and then order some hoses.

    Thanks heaps guys and girls
