    is this bit.. i think its called the idle air control valve, the same for the turbo vg30 and the non turbo?

    Yes... although rarely can they not be revived by

    dismantling and cleaning them. Tech article in tech section. otherwise buy off a wrecker and re-co it yourself... Nissan will rape you for a new one:)

    I've been raped to the tune of almost $1000 to get mine replaced ny Nissan :-(

    I bought a perfect condition 2nd hand one from Cresta wreckers 3245 1555 for $50 DIY. Still prob less than $100 for one already on the shelf.

    Install/removal/overhaul within the scope of the average competent zedder. PS: Care with the IACV gasket when removing. Often they split. I have a few spare here from all the plenum pulls ... will give away as required.

    PS: When testing the AICV on bench, check resistance across all terminals and apply 12v to check operation. SPecs in tech articles in tech>
