Where do you open it? Firefox, IE or in media player of some sort?

try uninstalling quicktime entirely then search for "quicktime alternative". much better setup imo

Mega codecs is approx 24mb install package

To completely uninstal it you will need to remove it from the registry. I dont recommend this unless you know what your doing...

Also i would be careful with all codecs unless they are microsoft certified. Reason being is becasue you can spawn spyware from within the codec. This can happen when you utilise the codec though a media player.. It will mask itself under the standard port number of the media player which would be a range of ports between TCP 1024-5000..

    Tread carefully.

Just install the Quick time plugin.

Alot of those "mega-codec packs" can be more trouble than they are worth. Just install the ones you need as you need them.

    Kazaa Mega Codec Pack FTW.

I think the component you're after is called quicktime alternative... allows u to pay quick time in media player classic, and probably windows media player as well.
