Well after a late night fitting my HKS BOV's onto my car in the stock recirc position a very tired richard caught up with the guys at 10am. Unfortunately my car would not boost over 13psi leading me to think maybe i had a boost leak? Thanks to Ztoy for lending me his boost pipes for my dyno run, much more than i expected 324 RWHP at 13psi with an AFR of 10.2!!! MEGA rich. I had a major rush of blood to my remaining braincell and drove off to recallibrate my AVCR as it was calibrated previously with my old Blitz BOV's conected and not to my HKS SSQ's. HALELUYAH! The boost returned back to 'scary' level Got back to the dyno after my blast down the highway and they had shut up shop!!! (damn...) I do have an SAFC here at home so will get it installed and dyno tuned then we'll see what she's got! We saw an old V12 jag, volvo turbo, holden ute (408 rwhp! ), BMW M5, to name a few! Thanks for organising the day rollin! Next time i'll make sure it's running sweet
i had fun, even though mine was (by far) the least powerful car there i learnt that my car is running quite lean, something to look into no doubt. i put down 154.2rwhp on a pretty much stock NA, but the dyno guy said if i fixed my afr up i would "easily get 20rwhp more", so all in all my car is in pretty good nic :zlove: holden ute was such a beast, 409rwhp on an NA, thats potent. enjoyed watching a jag v12 and bmw m5 for something different... anyway, with any luck ill track down my fueling issue for the next dyno day and see if the dyno guys prediction holds true
Twas a interesting day, loved that M5 Ash's ute got the big power award of the day, not bad for a cam, exhaust, intake and tune Good to catch up with some zedders I hadn't seen in a while :zlove:
yeah really enjoyed the day too, i was expecting to do similar numbers to Ash's car having driven the both of them back to back. But it really blew everyone away. It was really good to see so many 300+wph cars and i was pretty much impressed with everyones run considering the boost levels etc. I think quite a few people were experiencing issues, Richard ran at lower boost than he would have liked, mine developed a missfire late last night so i backed the boost off a fair bit. I think il get it retuned and up the boost for next time but im very happy with my new engine that hasnt even done 1000kms yet here are the pics Ok here's some pics from the day: Ash's SS Ute 408.7rwhp (most powerful car of the day) Niall's 300ZX Twin Turbo 335.8rwhp(most powerful ZX of the day) Mike's 5.3 V12 Jaguar XJC 225.1rwhp Red Z31 300ZX N/A Volvo 850 T5 Orange SS Ute 6.0 333rwhp Scott E39 M5 287.3rwhp (with problems) I know some of you are a bit funny about having your rego's on the net so we blurred them out, Thanks to Rory for the pics and editing
Ive got some more pics of the other zeds, just havent had a chance to edit and upload them all. i will get round to it though
Im gonna get it properly set up with an EBC and that and have another go at it. I hate to be the one that says it but i think that dyno was reading a bit high
Wow, I'm shocked, 333.7hp at the wheels. Which converts to 248.84rwkw at 12psi. Heaps more than I was expecting. Ill post up a pic of the printout later. Reek. Glad to hear you sorted out your boost however I would still get it tested for leaks. Nyall it was a great afternoon, thanks for organising .
boost yeh once i calibrated the AVCR, (put it in self learn and a duty value) it went straight up! I calibrated it on the M1! set at 1.1 bar it certainly brought a smile to my face! (frowning all morning, i thought my face was stuck like that) Was hoping to have 1 last go to take the Z win but, alas.. the roller doors were down... Thanks again for helping !
Dude i wasnt there lol ? Or is there another Rory on the forum Looks you had heaps of fun, i was visiting a friend down gold coast way. I hope to come to the next dyno day and see what my Z has on paper
Spweing I couldnt make it ...new turbos should be here this week, hopefully we get these ones to work Be sure to let me know when you've got your EBC done and I'll be in like no mans business.
Dyno Sheet Here it is. Leans out a bit when it comes on boost but once its on its fine. I think I leans like that because im using boost jets. I reckon an EBC should sort that out. Im very happy with that result.
I'm not even posting mine i'm that sure that the dyno is wayyyy out. I mean, straight away, my tyres weren't at 50 PSI!!!
The last time i was there they dyno operator pumped all the tyres up, this time he assumed we did...........
The ambient temp was 22c and the intake temp was 47c, So it was a mild day at 22c, the intake temp will always be higher than ambient,( things like boost pressure and turbo size will affect intake temp, stock turbos at 16psi will give high IT's) by how much would depend on how many pulls were done over what period of time, the shorter time between pulls the higher the IT. If you?re asking is 47IT normal? I don?t know.
