Don't bother buying a Series 1 PTU, you may as well update to a Series....

2 (used in 93 onwards Zs). Series 1 PTUs were actaully recalled in the USA and Series 2 fitted free I believe.

Locally I think ttzed sells them, but I ordered mine through Courtesy Nissan in the USA and it came out cheaper. It also got here in about 1 week.

Not sure of part numbers, but the websites will give you that info.

it may already be a series 2 ptu. did the series 1 have round plugs whereas the series 2 had rectangular plugs?

i have just be told that this is the case, if so i already have a series two as it has square plugs...

If it's like the one in this link, then it's a Series 2. You'll also....

get an idea of what one will cost you from the US.

well its not like the one in that link, so i assume it is series 1. thanks for the help, i notice that the picture in that link is the same as the pic at ttz.

if you have already changed yours, did you have to change anything else over for it to work or is it plug and play. the zed i will be doing this to is completely stock. thnx.

    They are a straight plugnplay......>>

They come complete with a sub loom to plug into the old harness and conver to the new harness. In the picture below the type 1 PTU is on the left, with the type 2 on the right.

DinoZ Talks sh#t for a living.

If you have removed the standard airbox & replaced with a pod filter

then you have plenty of space up in the nose to relocate the PTU to a cooler possie. A bit of work splitting the loom to seperate the temp sender and then retape.
