Project Facelift. (warning many "PICTARZZ")

So while in the process of getting my girl a facelift i thought i'd fix up her other imperfections like her behind (this could get raunchy) Anyway, the previous owner did a fair shit job of the hatch when they removed the spoiler and crap so the paint went all crackly and it just looked dodgy...

While waiting for te front bar to be rubbed back and primmed we worked on the hatch.

(**** me the biggest spider ever just attacked me in the middle of writing this...)

anyway heres some pics of this weekends work, Next thursday i continue with rubbing the rear hatch back and the front left fender(just to fill in anything i messed up), the Infill panel gets a fix on thursday also.... with any luck i'll have time left to fit the front bar which will be a facelift complete!!! How exciting

Yep yep, all very exciting when you see shitty paint restored like new. Can't wait for the front bar to go on just need some indicators to fit >< might contemplate touching up the rear bar or might just buy a new one!!

looking great man! cant wait to see it finished.. i spent 6 hours sofar this weekend sanding down my arse ready for a lick of paint...

but i would say use paper not plastic... over spray soaks into the paper and won;t come off but when it dries on the plastic the air pressure from the gun can often knock it off you'll get flakes and crap flying off... thats why painters cover cars in brown butchers paper... just something I learnt that was pretty helpful

I like the black white mix, with a bit of chrome. But i don wanna overdo the black.

this is how my top will be on a silver zed but with black side mirrors as well ive always wanted to do that, i wish i could do the 180sx look but it will look dodgy cause of the way the front fenders line up with the windows and windscreen but i love the 5% tinted targas, 25% all around then them 2 bits ontop black and then sidemirrors black or chrome :O

 

just paint your whole car black, hawt!

yea looks good man, also a question, are u just sprayying over the top? or sanding it back? cause i need to toutch my paint up soon and if i can just spray over the top i might do it when i do my 3rd break light panel looks good, keep it going man!

 

You gotta sand it back man, dont ever spray over the top >< BAD.

And heres an update, got stuck into it straight after work. Had some issues fitting the left hand side properly looks like the previous owner had a field day with Bog... so i'll need a new fender for it to sit flush.

Getting some Mesche tomorrow, deciding between Chrome or black... Other than that all i have left to do is some front indicators that are being shipped my way as we speak, and the clear side indicators which i should have next month So yar... hoooray...
