A compression test at (of all places) KMart tyre and Auto is only around $50.

Can't u just DIY compression test? Cost of gauge is <$20 :)

I could.... But because I am currently trying to sell it I want to have it done professionally. That way the test results can be trusted by any potential buyers. If I do it myself it leaves the results open to speculation.

After spending $6500 it would be a better idea to keep it. You put in all the hard work only to let someone else reap all the rewards for a measily 12000. Looks like a nice one though. Good Luck.

Thanks :) I know it's not much after all the hard work, but I have nowhere to keep it anymore. There will be some tears shed when the sale finally happens.

Was asking more for it, but it wasn't drumming up any interest, it's come to crunch time and I really need to sell her, so I've had to drop the price again.

I certainly can! Except every time I decide I'm going to get the camera out and take some nice shots in there - it rains! Today is a good example of that! Was alright this morning - been coming down steadily ever since I picked her up. Going to take some engine bay shots of her too when time and the weather allows :)

Yeah you may have trouble selling her. I beleave it's a bit high. I sold my tt 5 spd for $10850.. 156k on the clock.. I found carsales better than here

She's on carsales and ebay too :) And a couple of other forums.

Reason why it's so high is that I have all the proof of the $6,500 in maintenence that was carried out in March and is still currently under warranty, as well as roadworthy docs and just over 101,000km on the clock :) I've dropped it down the the $17,000 I wanted for it to begin with! LOL I realised THAT was a liiiiiiiiitle too high LOL :)

She's got a fair bit going for her! Still gonne be sad when she goes though :(

And - as a follow up on the pics - I'm sorry!! I still haven't gotten them! It's been raining for the last 2 days, and it's still going today. Seems like every time I walk out with the keys and camera it starts again. Murphy hates me this week. Apparently the weather guy says we're going to have a nice weekend!

If I spent 50k on a Hyundai Excel would you be willing to pay more than 50k for it? If you give up on the idea of trying to recoup your costs you should be able to get a relatively quick sale around 10-11k.

I wouldn't consider buying an Excel in the 1st place

If I was trying to recoup costs - I'd still be asking $17,000 for it.

Wrong, the problem with the forum is that the majority of people already have zeds and only a tiny proportion are looking to buy (most of that proportion are P platers after NAs).. Of course you will have more luck on carpoint:

    1. People go to that site to buy cars
    2. Chances are they don't have a zed, let alone know about the forum

i bought my BA from a BA XR6T forum. People who are smart join forumns where they can see enthusiasts sell their cars. I did research on all the sellers post about his car and looked up some stuff, saw it and bought it. Smart people do research before droping 10-20k$
