I'm thinking of putting a set of these in my Z. I've got a verbal quote price of $2700 fitted. With the parts price of $2280, $420 is a reasonable amount for labour?
they'd be good but VERY stiff for Aussie roads $420 is almost exactly what I paid to have 4 shocks put in, so I'd say it is fair. If you have your heart set on the Teins then know yourself out, but I think something like Bilstein shocks with King Springs springs would give a bit better result for our conditions, but then again, not tunable AFAIK.
Few things I am going to (finally) be installing my coilovers soon and in order to save a considerable amount on labour, you should remove and store the rear trim yourself as this all has to come off to access the rear struts  probably bout $100 bucks off the price for a few hours of your time. Plus, you can clean the inside of the trunk as well as get a better understanding of the way the car is put together  (Also a good time to fix a broken radio antennae). Cheers Rob
Nice! Tho Jap coil overs are notoriously stiff. If you want a nice firm ride, but not bone jarring, look at something European. eg, Bilstein.
I thought Tein stopped making the HA's for the Zed a while back. The only ones available now are the Tein Type Flex Damper. If you can get anything else I think it will be NOS (New Old Stock). The HA's have a 33% stiffer spring rate rear end in them for drifting and don't squat as much as the Tein Type Flex. I have my Tein Type Flex set to maximum hardness and I don't have a problem with them at all.
