I have done the HICAS removal PS Pump mod (removed the piston and spring). The power steering is not working AT ALL.... have tried my best to bleed the system by turning to lock etc, and it did take quite a bit of fluid, but still no assistance. Any ideas????

can you tell us anymore? is it making any noise? make sure it is nothing simple like the belt slipping

I remember the 1st time I met you, kyne

you casually said to me "Yeah, I just rebuilt the (manual) transmission last night to fix a synchro problem" so I won't insult your intelligence by asking if you have checked the power steer belt is tight etc.

The FSM quotes to raise the front wheels off ground, and go from lock to lock whilst topping up the system- but again, I suspect you have already done this.

Hasn't your zed been idle for many months? Might be a wiring continuity problem with the speed sensor on the steering column ofr behind the odometer? Does the speedo work? ifnot, this is a clue...

    ahhh that's a good point...

I think I've just found the overfuelling problem too. The coolant temp sensor plug is corroded, I gave it a bit of a wiggle and she fires up and idles now. I have a heap of new connectors I still have to fit :)
I'll have a look tomorrow, haven't been able to take it for a drive to see if the speedo works. There is an electrical connection down near the rack for the steering isn't there??? It's possible I disconnected it and haven't plugged it back in.

    I think there are two

connections on the rack, one down low easy to get to from under,
one hidden just higher up. Its fed out of the same loom that feeds the lower one. one solenoid one, pressure switch?
