    Dear Zed owners and enthusiasts...

My 300Zx twin turbo 1992 model in which i bought a couple of weeks ago seems to have lost alot of power since i first took it on the test drive.
(well power might still be the same, but the kick when the turbo kicks in is not as aggressive as what it was when i first got it...)

it also is using water i have to put around 600 ml of water into the radiator everyday.

i just had the water pump replaced, timing belt and thermo as it overheated (i stopped it straight away) then the mechanics put in a faulty water pump so that got replaced again, but ever since i have had it back it is loosing water as i stated above and the power has decreased.
i also noticed that the cats are pretty rooted, this wouldnt cause a significant drop in turbo kick would it?

    Please help!

Maybe a few things wrong there

As for your power issues, you may have a fault code up that is putting the ECU into safety boost map. Do an ECU diagnostic as there are a few codes that will do this. Although this is only a reduction in 2PSI, it will also richen your fuel mixture and retard the ignition timing, are you using more fuel than usual? Broken down cats will also restrict exhaust flow and slow your turbo spool down but I doubt this would have happened in such a short period.

Your water loss could be a few issues may even be related to your recent cooking incident which may be another issue in itself. Check to see if the water is discharging into the surge bottle infront of the passenger front wheel, ie. overflowing.

I see by your profile your are on the Gold Coast. Send a PM to Rob Aromour (K-zed), always willing to help a fellow zedder and as a bonus, he knows his stuff too ;)
