Wow thats one shiny motor - it doesnt even look like powdercoating but as if its chrome everywhere ! Very shiny indeed!

So what does powdercoating cost normally - anyone?
Graham - what are you paying and how does the costing work?

    Cheers

misszen the pic i posted was of chrome plating, not powder coating...but im after something similar

I pay very cheap as i found a place that does it for factories and machinery...so for them items like rims and plenums are tiny :p I paid $10 a rim to get them powdercoated gloss black...and for an extra $10 i could have added pearl to it

You know that you'll need to be in there weekly if not daily to keep it clean and looking like that?

I know i wont be able to keep it looking clean forever...but atleast it would be better than how it is with 20yr old dirt over it

    BLACK BEAST SLICKTOP TT R-SPEC

HPC Coating (thermal barriers) comes in silver/chrome and black.

the black is rated at 1000 + degrees
    the the silver/chrome at 600 + degrees

the silver/chrome will discolour/fade when taken to its heat limits .

I have black on manis ,turbine housings and dumps ..
    silver/chrome on EVERYTHING else .

Looking at doing the exhaust from test pipes back with silver/chrome HPC depending on cost.. will be easy to clean with a simple wipe
other option for me is to heat wrap it

I picked up the coolant pipe today...not exactly what i was hoping for but still happy with the end result when compared to stock.

The chrome powdercoat is like silver but slightly brighter...i might just get my plenum polished in silver or even gloss black and have an all black stealth type engine bay with a bit of shine due to the gloss...

Now to start stripping the engine or try and organise the parts i want to get them powdercoated so when i do put everything together, it will be all ready.

I cant upload the pic of the coolant pipe as I'm using my iphone...once i get back home i shall try and upload a pic for reference.
