Ping sound

Just curious as to why my car makes a sort of ping sound when it reachs 110km or higher?

 

Speed chime, surely you have been over 105km/h since you have owned it??? It can be disabled, search for speed chime, that should give you an idea how to disable it.

 

Speed warning chime installed in Japan, I think there is an article in the tech section about getting rid of it.

So Eric, going to give the LEDs ago this weekend, but will those side modules (being broken) have any issues putting them back on?

Yep, takes all of 5 minutes to disconnect, the cluster gauge cover has to come off (2 screws), then sitting on the top left of the cluster is a little black box with 1 green (from memory) wire coming out of it, disconnect that wire and wrap it up with some electrical tape. Done. Replaced cluster cover. Have a read of the tech article if you're still not sure.

Very quick and very easy DIY job for anyone.

 

You could take it into a Nissan Dealer and have them fix it:-

R & R dashboard
Locate wiring fault
Remove chime module
Road test vehicle

Labour @ 8 hours
+ Sundry items
incl GST
= $798.00
