yours was run in 3rd gear, except the 2nd run

on your 2nd run your car dropped from 3rd to 2nd:eek: while they were accelerating.....
we have your run on video and you can clearly see it happen...
if your car was run in 2nd gear it would record a higher power than in 3rd anyway,so thats definately not the case....
if your searching for why your car is low on power, then as far as im concerned its one of 4 things....
1)loss of backpressure meaning car needs another exhaust restriction...
solution add hotdogs or more mufflers
    2)poor air/fuel ratios.....solution,tune the car....
3)ecu has not set itself for your setup....solution,reset your ecu using conzult/datascan or similar
4)busted arse gearbox...solution,rebuild your gearbox yet again
hope you find the cause josh,we are hear to help and lend a hand when you need and want it,nobody in the club is vindictive enough to not want to see you have a little success:cool:

haha im sure its something i can find... safc goes in soon so thats one tune that will help me discover my issue... and we did reset the ecu with the conzult the night before... if its ther gear box shes still in warrenty... WOOT!

she'll be fine... just means the underdog will return...............:D :D :D

yea my car was run in 3ed and I have a tt manual and I got 197.7rwkw I was a little disappointed considering I ran a 225rwkw in 4th till I hit the speed limiter at psi performance the weekend befor that?s nearly 40 horse that just abandoned my car in a week

That's what I thought the problem might be, you reset the ECU the night before so it didn't have enough time to fully reset itself. I don't know heaps about ECU's, but is it possible it hadn't fully set up the A/F ratios etc. it wanted yet?

EDIT: Also, i was talking to spikey (highest N/A at 131KW or whatever), he said he gets around 350-400kms on a full tank. You were saying you get around 700. Maybe your running heaps lean?

never 700 around the city but some i can get up 500+ mark... atm with a lead foot i can get 450, never under 400 aye

Firstly , thanks for all your attendance people and the organisation of Ross and his lovely lady Marissa made for an easy day for us.

The dyno runs were all done in 3rd as we didn't know which cars had chipped ECU's and which had std ECU's . In 4th the std one will hit the speed cut so to make it fair for everyone we did it in a lower gear.

In Loud n Prouds case , the auto is screwed and would only run in 2nd or 4th with the overdrive off and 4th is too tall .

Hope that explains a few things and yes , I did say to someone we normally use 4th but that is only on the speed cut removed ones.

For the guys who want to know there a/f's , drop into the shop sometime ( but ring first ) and we can pull your dyno graph up with the a/f's on it. Make sure you know your rego as that is our reference, unlike 1/2 the disclaimer sheets where people didn't.. :) :)

    Cheers
    Ken

i run 218rwkw at PSI a month ago dude, thats 24kw more then on sat.
i dont think u can directly compare results between different dyno's but from what i hear around the place hyperdrives results are pretty spot on.

oooooooo.... trust me i had to clean out my pants when that happened... lol

well at least im more confident on whats wrong.... the fact that it was a different gear rather then my car just being sick as a dog.. lol... slowly working it out....

so... who knows about the electrics in an auto over drive? :D :D :D :D

yea some one did say that PSI is a little high to like make people feel better about there cars but i would of thought that because both of them been are dynamicdyno the would be pretty close, what?s the point of having a standardise dyno system like the dynamicdyno setup to compare car from around the world if the tuning shop can then just change the reading to be higher or lower. I could just pay off the tuner and have a 500hp print out for the wank appeal :p
im not having ago at anyone im just confuse why it can be so much different

but all of this is irrelevant because we all went on the same day on the same dyno so if we were adversely affected by something it affected all of us

yea the look on you face when it hit 104kw was a real Kodak moment :p

    Yeah , hehehe

We were asked to ,err, fudge the figure a bit and the only way is via the intake air temp correction.
When the air temp probe is disconnected it goes to a default of 230 deg which gives about 40% more power. It shows up on the IT reading on the bottom of the sheet so it can't be done and get away with it.
Made a few people laugh nervously though... :) :)

    Cheers

What is the speed cut-out on a standard 300ZX can anyone tell me? Going from the graph, I got to a touch over 200kph in 3rd so i guess it's more than this yeah?

yea i was the one that asked to fudge it but i wanted it to beat josh :p

and i pretty sure that the speed cut is at 180 but if ur wheels are the wrong size it will have a big afect on it i.e i can do 190 because my tires a little 2 big

    This is my chart:

So I got to around 200-205 kph, so this means I have an aftermarket piggyback or something? Should I be able to get to that sort of speed in 3rd?

i don?t know about an auto but I think my car can do 160 in 3ed (manual) and autos gears are normally spaced further apart so its possible but the 205km/h is a little high you could have a chip ecu or a speed limiter override
