Ok.. So we have purchased our project Z for $4000 which is fine. We are now in the midst of spending a lump of about $15000 on it.

I guess long story short here is , does anyone feel comfortable leaving their car at the station... any station.. cos my initial thoughts are HELL NOO!!.

The mrs said she has seen Supras, Skylines there and reckons it will be fine.. bit not convinced.. anyone got a story for me?

Yeah thats the whole problem isnt it./. ppl just dont give a crap.. cos they are driving a Daewoo or a kia.. so banging their door on ours actually increases the value of their car :)

We would be mostly at Glen Waverley i guess.. sometimes Baysie though.. ugh!

Train spotters FTW. Adam, just round up all the train spotters and get them to watch the carpark all day for you.

Put a VicRail or Vline sticker on your Zed first.

    You win, they win. Somehow.

Fair enough. If I was out to hurt on your Zed I'd soon back away if it started to swear at me.

But I'd back away further and for longer if a sad looking dude in a multicoloured diamond patterned woolen vest stood
there beside your Zed and drooled a bit while he rattled off the timetables for the trains over the last thirty years.

Train spotters FTW as a security measure :D

    Nope.

Well I don't have any Z related stories because I wouldn't leave my Z at a train station but a bunch of mates have had their cars broken into at train stations.

buy a heap of quarter windows before you do it. Thats what they will use to break in.

Good to know people are spending 20K on their z32's. Makes my car for sale look cheap.

    I call them 'tooters'.
I was walking the dog one afternoon, and saw a bloke at the local station with a camera and binoculars on the overpass. I made the mistake of asking him what he was waiting for.
He replied: "Im waiting for two APCR's with a gm follower hauling coal." (or something to that effect... heaps of acronyms were involved). Strange folks indeed.
For lols, pick up a rail magazine from the newsagency. Some of the member-written articles are hilarious, they even document how precisely the trains are running, and which ones are in for servicing etc

I've got a talking alarm in the shed somewhere i took out of an old car i had. It's quite good as it uses a microwave sensor to sense when someone is near the car ( could work in a Z with the targas out ) then says something like YOU ARE TOO CLOSE THE VEHICLE PLEASE MOVE AWAY. And if you stay there too long or set of the shock sensor it say I'VE BEEN TAMPERED WITH. I probably should find it and put it in the Z.

you need a viper alarm first...

viper alarms go anywhere from $100 to $800

the shock sensor module will cost about 200 fitted.

autobarn chadstone sell viper alarms, closest place i can think of for you.

trunk monkey cost too much to maintain.. and if you dont maintain it, it doesnt work... it just stops working and you will need to replace it.. very costly...

also it does not comply with australian standards, so insurance companies will not warrant it.

i would not be too keen with regular, long term parking at a train station .... over the past few years there have been any number of posts detailing nasty jobs done on Zeds at train stations ...
