Has anyone here replaced the P/S hose that runs between the resevoir and the steering rack? this one
Can it just be removed from under the car, will I need to pull the radiator? Also Is there a way to replace just the hose on the left side of the pic, the one that goes to the resevoir? It has a hose clamp at the top but it is crimped on at the botttom, any way to replace it?

    Sounds like you......>>

Have a similar problem to me. Mine is weeping around the crimped join and the fluid is being blown everywhere by the fan. To get that hose out will mean taking a lot of things (radiator, ac condensor etc) out if you want it to come out in one piece. I had a chat with Joe at Nissport who says that the crimp can be ground off and the hose replaced with a new section using clamps both top and bottom. He says he has done it before, so after Phillip Island this weekend I plan on getting in and doing mine. If you want to hold off for a week or so I can do a Tech Article on mine so you can learn from my mistakes.

Is that the hose with a banjo fitting one end and a hose clamp the other?

I had the metal part of the hose pulled off and hpc coated and a new hose crimped on if you want to buy some bling for your car Pete.

No it is the return line......>>

It runs from the rack on the passangers side, out to the front of the car for some cooling, then back along the drivers side rail before heading for the reservoir.

    Thanks Pete

I will wait and see how you go with yours first. Changing the hose has got to be easier than trying to change the whole pipe, lots cheaper too.

    OK all done........>>

Wasn't too hard, just had to take all the pipes off the drivers side to get some room. Made a nice mess but only took about an hour all up. I took pictures and will throw a tech article together by the end of the week.

I bought that very hose/pipe last year and its still dangling from

my garage ceiling after being put in the too hard and not urgent basket of Zed tasks. Looks like I'll have to tackle it now, no excuses with a tech article on the way.

    Hey Caz......>>

My tech article is how you fix the leak without replacing the whole hose, just the bit that is leaking.
