OK guys... i didn't post this thread to witness a war!

In the three years I've owned my Zed I had not been pulled over that much before the last Friday. Two group RBT's and two times while driving and a cop has tailed me. I have no prior driving offences and my car isn't crazily modified performance wise - just a couple of cosmetic touch ups.

I was just so surprised when it happened twice in one day and that the cops (mainly the second one) were so aggresive and rude (to a girl) when I was only polite and stating the facts. I only got a bit agitated when the second instance was taking so long when I was supposed to go visit my friend at hospital with only a one hour visiting time opening (I got pulled over right outside the hospital and ended up only having 40 minutes to see my friend thanks to the non-value adding encounter with the police) If he knew he had nothing why did he have to drag it out that long and be so rude about it. Maybe he was having a bad night I don't know... doesn't mean he had to ruin other people's nights as well especially when they have done nothing wrong and have answered everything in a polite way.

I wanted to complain if I was right (which I am) hence I grabbed his name... but decided against as i don't want to make any enemies.

i had plently of time to go threw, and i also was waiting on the side of the road for 2 mins as he was a good 100-150 meters behind me and stopped at the lights while other traffic went threw.

i could have drove off easy. butt the 2nd cop, told me he pulled me up cause of the car i drive and because im a p plater. also questioning me weather i was driving a tt or an NA. i was driving an NA.

why would the cop shop keep a cop that didnt book people?
payying someone money that they dont need to?
i have been told first hand by a family friend, that there is no quota to fill, but fines must be handed out. technically not a quota, but just as bad.

p.s. the same cop, the 2nd one, booked me 3 months later for no p plates, my bad, but again, he tried to tell me i was doing burnouts when i had my GF in the car at the time and some stupid ricer civic was being a smart ass. but anytime i said anything he told me to stop talking. cops always win.

oh the same cop. off topic, told my mates dad 'keep your kids off my streets'. geez.

I am getting a full list from the RTA with all vehicle makes and models of vehicles that are classed as high power for P1's... iall i know/heard is that --- turbo charged or not, its all based on KW per Kg of vehicle weight, "or in the cops eyes, if its turbo'd, get out and pay the fine (if your a P plater lol)". if this is exceeded....then turbo charged is deemed high power. Look at deisel engines, they lag like sh*t in everyday cars, until they are run with a turbo to reduce the lag....yet they are not classed as high power. even if you get a deisel engine producing a decent Kw rating.

Here's the rules for QLD, taken directly from the website. There's no 'approved list' of vehicles, unlike motorbikes for those on an RE license.

Here's the same thing from the RTA website for NSW:
And the link to their published list of prohibited 6-cylinder vehicles: http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/licensing/downloads/200706_high_powered_6_list.pdf

This stuff cracks me up so much.......

    listen kiddies......

us old farts were once young hoons long before you lot some how escaped the condom or is some cases when the load should have been shot into the sheets.....

Personally I've broken more laws than most of you have had hot dinners & I certainly have done things that wont be done by most these days through sheer fear of the ramifications.
many of these things I'm not so proud of but they are part of my past like it or not

Most ( if not all) us old farts have been in the same "picked on" situation that you P platers face today....

nothing changes in that respect... just the age of the driver and the model of the car... and ofcourse..... the attitude one has for law enforcement.

Just remember one thing..... the police are the first people you'll call when things go ugly, better hope they dont remember your shyte attitude towards them when they pulled you up yesterday;)

I don't mind getting targeted for rbts etc because I know that the car will attract attention.

What I am talking about is instances where the police try to spin stories which are not correct even after inspection - telling me that my zed is TT and is prohibited and when realissing it was a NA he changed his tune saying all zeds are prohibited and that I need to apply for an exemption to drive my car etc.

Even if NA's had recently been added (which they havent) the RTA has rules in place regarding exclusion if vehicle is purchased before a certain time also.

So even if the cop was right (he knew the purchase date of my car) I still would not need to apply for exemption because I bought the vehicle prior to the date stated by the RTA.

So again I'm just talking about situations where the cops are trying to twist the rules. They should be familiar with these rules and should not go arround falsley accusing.

As you get older there are things that you "pickup on";)
    things like.....

1/ Police NEVER ask a question that they dont allready know the answer to
About the only exception to this is for standard proceedure questions such as had anything to drink tonight.... do you have any reason for speeding
The rest of the time their questions are aimed soley at getting you to "confess", IE trick you into saying what they belive is the truth.

    2/ Police arent stupid
One MUST have a brain to be a copper, most ordinary people fail the entrance exam into the police force..... there is no such thing as a stupid cop..... smartass cops yep... stupid never.

3/ Police can read you like a book
They are trained to do just that & can asses you as a driver or murderer and your level of guilt very quickly. Your level of "attitude" can either see your car sitting on the side of the road or you driving away happily after being let off with a warning.

    4 Police are humans too
They have wives/girlfriends/boyfriends/a family and a life away from work. As a result 'they', like the rest of us have both good and bad days at work & a peaved motorists is just adding ugly fuel to the fire.

Put yourself in their shoes, how would you have dealt with the exact same attitude you gave out ..... then multiply it by the same sort of thing for the rest of the day..... who in their right mind would want to be a cop !

Yet we hang sht on em relentlessly and then like every other person we call them first when it all goes bad.

God dam asshat copper pulled me up this morning
Oh sweet jesus my house has been burgled
wheres me phone .... rings 000

love the irony of it all....... especially when that copper that peaved me out this morning answers the call to my burglary

what do you think his care factor will be .... this ? -> :W:

Its a job..... and a well paid one too ;)
    They get a fast car,
    they get a gun,
they get to go out every day and pissoff civilians

Maybe I should have been a cop....... :nono:

As I started reading this I was hoping that someone would bring up the point that they are untrained to distinguish certain car type and engine types, I actually believe that they should have some knowledge of cars, Im not saying that none of them do, cause I have certainly been pulled over by some that do know what they are talking about (which happened to get me booked for having a non enclosed pod filter) but that being said I think they should also know the rules and what you can and cant be defected on, as not many of them do, a few of the cops that I have come across in my time driving have tried to defect me for not having a spare wheel, which according to the blue slip registration rules book thing you dont technically need one.

That aside I was pulled over in my TT Z with p plates for the cop to inform me that i had a brake light out and then he did the usual thing and went around and checked all my tires and what not and at that time it only had wheels and an exhaust so it didnt stand out too much and then the cop asked me if it was turboed and I said yes and he asked me if I was allowed to drive it and I explained to him that I had contacted the RTA to confirm that I was able to drive it because I got my p's before that ruling came in and he took my licence and ran it through his system and came back to me and said make sure you get that light fixed. Even though in the end it was an inconvenience being pulled over, I was polite to him, I wasnt a smart ass and I didnt get booked for the light being out he didnt ask anything about the wheels or exhaust and he left me alone.

I've only ever had my TT inspected once and got questioned over what the radiator air guide does and where the mod plate is for the stock seats. :p

The look on the coppers face when he opened the bonnet to see the vgtt jammed in there was priceless, I think that's why he tried his luck on the seats.

ive got an NA zed on my P's and have been pulled over a bunch for RBT's and such, mostly becuase i work in hospotality and drive home after midnight on weekends alot. im always simply polite, ask them how thier nights been, tell them what mine was like when they ask in return etc. As such ive never been questioned about the car or restrictions or anything of the sort. Aside from one guy last week who breath tested me in the maccas car park then proceeded to ask me what the car was like, explaining he wasted to buy one :)

so im with the ones saying dont hold an attitide against the police, itll pay off in the end

I have been pulled over a few times and everytime im always polite and had the right attitude but once last year when i got pulled over i endd up with a fine and loss of 3points all because my p plates wernt apparently correct. I had a custom p plate that looks like a splat which can be bought at some shopping centres. Their reasoning was that the letter P had to be in white whereas mine was just see through so pretty much in the shape of a P and everything else was illegal so they wrote me up for "not" having my p plates shown which was bs!!! But id like to state that some cops out there are nice and have a joke with you and all that but a handfull are just pigs and just want to get you for something just because we are P platers!!!

haha great thread dig whoever did this :p >
    2009 hahaha.

and as for the300zx being prohibited hahahaha.

if its prohibbeted what about the SV6 and SIDI commy's .. they probably have more pull, and because of the build on them make the younger ALOT more cocky then in a car where you can feel what its doing, not being TOLD what its doing.
