Maybe >>> If teeth finally stripped during low rpm (ie cranking), cams remained in sync, possibly no valve interference. Fingers crossed, Alan.
Re: I hope everything is allright dude! There was a recent forum member who's timing belt failed at idle, and his valves were OK. I got my fingers crossed dude !!
shiiiiite .. i have been holding off on mine .... and only put the car in today for an advanced 100kkm service, including belt ... again, on the expert advice of our wunderbah, qld zed gurus ... i can only express my gratitude to the great bunch we have up here ..and hope that all is well with your machine, tazzie ... whew ...!!!!:zlove:
Wow That's bad. If there was good tension on the belt it may have still held together, if you didn't hear any loud crunching sound it's probably ok? Ben
New belt on New belt on and 160psi +/- 5psi on all cylinders. Time to take out a Lotto Ticket (although I think I have used my luck for a while) For background in Vehicle has done 147,000Km's I purchased at 135,000Km's and was assured the belt had been done. bbbzzzzzzzz wrong answer.... I would recommend that if you buy a Zed and did not SEE yourself that a belt went in ... assume it didn't .... As the Advert goes "JUST DO IT!!!!" Car should be finished tomorrow ... bit busy today unfortunately .....
Re:  Good one Alan I might come for the visit but doubt I'll play gonna take me 2 weeks to clean the car after nearly 2 months off the road.... the layer of muck on it is incredible.. someone please donate me a 10metre x 6 metre garage...
Re: If that doesnt scare people to do 100K services nothing will !! my car had the 100000K service sticker on it.. looking all legit.. saying the belt had been done 6000k ago and about 18 months ago.. and low and behold.. when i pulled the old belt out (didnt look that bad, but it looked atleast 80000k old.. all cracked and worn), water pump was old too.. it did have a new thermostat though.. dont trust that sticker guys!
You're one lucky SOB TAzZie My blood runs cold when I look at the pile of teeth just below the crankshaft. Do you go to Church regularly?
Those pics should definitely be put into the tech section as a warning to everyone who has not done their 100K service or is unsure whether it has been done or not:zlove:
