bar and exposed all behind in an effort for me to check all my hose clamps and generally a bit of an inspection . Thinking it would have been a lot easier with the front wheels not on ramps lol . Got it off in the end though . 2 Questions though , upon removing some of the plastic guards under the engine and in the wheel arches , some of the plastic pieces have split around the mounting tabs and some bolts also broke off when undoing . Can replacement plastic guards be sourced fom somewhere and approximate cost .

The other thing was are there any other jobs I should look at doing while the front is off . Going to be looking into maybe bigger I/coolers or FMIC but any other maint type tasks I should do .

If your car is an auto you might want to consider fitting an aftermarket external transmission oil cooler. Very easy to install with all that front stuff removed.

you could consider getting a larger oil cooler (the radiator looking thing below your air filter in the pic)

Ok well I have ordered some new upgrade SMIC so will

so will just clean and poke around until they arrive and I can fit them . Might order new front panel to allow better flow to the new SMIC also .

Another thing that you should do is get a high pressure spray unit and clean your IC's and radiator.
1 more thing you could do is cut extra vents in the plastic wheel arch panel behind the IC's to allow more air flow. You might want to put some mesh on the vents to stop stones/dust/excessive water going through too.

Ok cut vents in wheel arch

plastic . I can definately see that this would help pull air through the I/C , would there be any negative effects from allowing water and dirt to enter back towards I/C when travelling slow or in reverse .I dont drive in the rain or on dirt often but mau get caught out one day???.

Will definately be giving the whole front area a good pressure clean . Thinking of new front panel in group buy so will either fit mesh over panel air intake holes or over factory duct inlet area to prevent stone damage . Thanks for the info .

Should be fine IMO ;) As long as you put a descent mesh cover over the vent hole. There is actually a vent in the bottom plastic cover behind the IC. But thats not big enough IMO. This will also let any dirt etc that gets through your grill to escape the area. Anyway up to you but i wouldn't be too concerned :)

No need to jump into anything while the bar is off, once you take it on and off a few times you will be able to remove it completely (stock bar) within 10 minutes without the need for ramps etc. So if you don't do anything now, you can always do it any time.

Can you expand a bit on that

I am not near the car at the moment but are you saying there is still some ducting left over from pod install??

If I'm on the right track,

There are two plastic pipes that run horizontally (One under each headlight), that can be pulled out if you don't use the stock airbox.
