Hey guys saw the tech section and there is an article on installing a water temp gauge but wondering how hard it is to also install a oil temp gauge for someone who has never done this before? Is it an easy task to take on and install both?
And if not how much does it usually cost to get somebody to install for me?

    Cheers

Yep easy as, when I did water temp and oil pressure on the a pillar I simply had one power supply and one earth for both gauges and then feed 2 wires through the firewall to both sender units/probes

thats not really the most difficult part of it, its actually mounting the senders, well the oil temp atleast.

i can answer this as you lot over there have RHD cars like us lot over here in the UK.

Follow the throttle cable back to the fire wall (will be the opposite side of your battery on the drivers side) it goes through the fire wall via a rubber grommet, pull the grommet out and feed it up the throttle cable, once in view, enlarge the hole that the throttle cable goes through (don't worry the throttle cable is protected via its own metal and plastic sleeve) and feed your wire through the enlarged hole, then push the grommet back down and feed the wire through the firewall into the cabin, now the tricky bit, getting the blooming grommet back into the firewall.

Now inside the cabin, move your drivers seat as far back as possible and with a torch, remove the fuse box cover in the foot well, you will see that just behind the throttle pedal behind the plastic bit that holds the fuse box cover is the grommet you have just poked your wire through, once you figure out where the wire disappeared to and have received it, you can now start gently pulling it through the grommet (there will be some resistance if you only opened it enough to get the cable through yet keep its water tight properties so don't pull to hard in case you snag and the wire cuts its self in half) anyway now route it to where your putting your gauges, either on the A pillar or the center of the dash area.
