Hi guys, When I first got the car, the oil pressure gauge was working fine, died a few years ago, assumed it was the OPS, and finally replaced it a couple of weeks ago but the gauge is still faulty. Sits on about 2, and doesn't really move.. wavers slightly, but nothing like it should do or did before. Any thoughts? Cheers Andrew
Just a noobish guess, but is there some kind of resistor / spring in the cluster for the actual needle? -Kirill
Mine was dead when I bought the car - found that the needle was twisted slightly when someone had installed the 300kph speedo - I straightened it, and its worked fine since......it has very little force so it only takes a slight twist/rub for it to stop moving. Haven't had the cluster apart? Possibly something blocking the movement of the needle?
Also check the patency of the outlet leading to the OPS unit that it is not blocked up with 'gunge'. Blockage seems to be the most common cause of OPS failure.
Good tip Doug > > although I had to look up 'patency' :zlove: pa?ten?cy (ptn-s) n. 1. The state or quality of being obvious. 2. Biology The state or quality of being open, expanded, or unblocked.
