    Hi All,

I have pulled the compressor side piping of the left handside of the turbo and noticed a lot of oil in the tubes. If I run my finger along the inside it clearly is oil and its wetter than if I were to stick my finger in water a glass of water - the right handside (or drivers side) has a little but nowhere near as much)..

These Turbos were supposedly rebuilt less than 5k kms ago so my question is -
    1. Is it possible for the seals to go so quick.
    2. Can hard driving have caused the seals to degenerate quickly - this will help answer some other questions as the engine was rebuilt about 5k ago and some items just aren't lining up.
    3. Whats the easiest way to drop the turbos out to get resealed.

    Cheers,
    Gerben

If this happens would the car still smoke though?

The compressor pipes leading into the plenum are clean as a whistle..

Your intake couplers have been replaced at some point Gerben, or they may have been cleaned recently too.
Maybe try pulling hoses off the intercoolers and see how much oil is present.

so the decision has been made, with oil leaks, engine smoke, oil in the turbos, broken dipstick tube, buggered det sensor, no boost soleniods ( boost of wastegate) more freak'n silver engine paint on cam gears and radiator fan then ou can poke a stick at...

the engine is coming out... :(

might be time to move this to the build thread.....

mmmm will the begining of may deadline for an rwc still be viable???

Welcome to the fold . Im doing this too due to manual conversion but is a good time to go over things and check everything for peace of mind . And as daunting as that motor looks for a pull its not all that bad wants you get going .

    Good luck :)
