Going to be installing an oil cooler soon.

Just wandering if the NA has the same bungs as the TT block where the oil lines can screw in, or if its better to just run an oil filter relocation kit with a cooler.

    danke sir's

No, the NA does not have the cooler port in the sump. It has one in the oil filter housing like the TT but is blocked off.

Easier to fit an oil coller adaptor.

I was thinking about oil coolers on my NA zed recently...what is the benefits of installing one on a NA? Any disadvantages? Also what with the relocation kit...how do you add a cooler to it? Any links to getting a complete kit with a cooler? As Eric mentioned it would be easier to get the relocation kit but just need to get more info :) thanks in advance :)

advantage is better oil pressure, and more stable oil temp's if you drive your car hard a lot.

and justjap sell them, or you can find them on ebay.

pretty much an adapter screws on where your oil filter would go, then oil lines run from that to an oil cooler and then your oil filter, wherever you choose to put it.

Cool, thanks for that. Ive seen different row oil coolers...upto 30row i think...would the 30 row fit? Would it be over the top and unnecessary?

on an NA with mods you would only need a small oil cooler, do not want anything too big =]

I plan on going TT in the future...so would it be possible to run a 30 row cooler without any problems on my NA?

Just make sure you have a thermostat inline. Don't want to overcool the oil.

Oh ok...not really good mechanically, sorry...Chrispy what do you mean by thermostat inline? Ive got my thermostat working fine...do you mean get a Nismo thermostat?

could you expand on that chrispy, and also list the best way to do it

A inline oil thermostat which stops flow when the oil temp is low, and opens up after a certain temp. Overcooling the oil is as much of a problem as having it get too hot.

I had one like this on my V8 Clicky

You can also get sandwich plates with the thermostat built in, I think GReddy make one but you pay the GReddy tax for that :p

Im thinking about doing this as i would rather get a 30row instead of getting a smaller one now and pay again to get a bigger one later.

    thanks for the info =]

I was considering some sort of idea to keep the temp from getting too low, did not know there was thermostats for oil coolers =]
