hey guys im after prices for a brand new oem rear bar for my 89 tt (2+2) ... insurance is paying   so price is not a problem ...if they dont want to pay for a new bar though, mine will be repaired im after the jap spec bar, not the aus spec, which probably makes this harder... i need prices today to give to my panel beater to finish off the quote but wont need the bar til about mid jan ... anyone know of anywhere locally that has them? if not will i be getting one sent from japan? i have spoken to nissan but am still waiting on the guy to get back to me
your repairer should be getting off his ass and be finding out how much the bar is and where to source it from....but....give cresta a buzz, he might have one lying around
hahah he is looking around but i told him id ask around aswell just so we can get the invoice sorted today ... yeah ill call cresta thanks
my post searching for a spare 2 seater rear bar pulled up quite a few 2+2 rear bars. A few in victoria. Contact member SAKURASLR they have a few though not sure if j-spec/aus-spec. good luck
yeah its not too noticable but everything is just pushed in & is all out of wack ... but if insurance will pay for a brand new bar why not
accident? just replied to your PM, and then saw your post?? did you have a bingle?? I couldnt tell when I saw your car as I only saw the side.... not your fault I'm assuming since you got hit in the rear....
yeah it happened a few weeks ago & from were you were you probably wouldn't even notice (the mud coverest most of it :biggrin
hey sally i dont think ull be able to find a brand new rear bar unless u go to nissan directly and then they may not stock new rear bars. For me they replaced mine with a second hand front bar which was better then my original stock bar. I might be wrong but ull find everyone will have second hand rear bars.
yeah im going through nissan at the moment .. my rear bar isn't too bad anyway, i wont need to replace it with another second hand one, it can be repaired
id watch repairing a urethane bar,its not your regular repair job ,but anyhow i have a near new jap spec rear bar 4 sale(no repairs needed ) ,p/m sent
When I got parking damage to my rear bar fixed, the panel beater (who shall remain nameless for reasons which will become obvious) quoted the insurance co. $930 for a new bar, but ended up refitting my existing bar . . . the polyurethane returns to its original shape. So that was money in his pocket I guess. Made no difference to me, since the repair was quite satisfactory.
