Hi all, After a long period of being tied up with other stuff I'm back screwing our pair of z32's together. Have just done the plenum pull and deletes on the first one but decided to paint and polish a few parts. I'm slotted the TB's and IACV back on to the manifold with aviation gasket sealant instead of using factory gaskets because it was Sunday and pissing down. Ready to drop the top part of the inlet manifold back on the lowers but noticed in the various plenum pull walkthroughs that the lower plenum gasket is a must do which got me thinking. Am I tempting fate? I made doubly sure all surfaces were buffed clean before applying the sealant and then torqued up evenly.
Is going to buy some gasket paper and making one yourself an option? Last time i bought roll of gasket paper was $1. Already made about $20 of gaskets with it.
I have made up a few of the smaller ones but plenum go genuine as it is a fair job if it's not right. Really not costly.
Cheers gents, turns out there is a major engine gasket manufacturer a couple of suburbs over so I might head down and raid supplies seeing as I have to do all of this twice.
