Hey guys I just want to know people's opinion about using stock good condition fuel reg at 500hp. I already bought an aftermarket tomei type L adjustable fuel reg. Now my OEM fuel reg is still good. I am intending to install this adjustable reg but looks like space and relocation will be a problem.

If you install a big pump like I did you may find the reg cant cope and cause a it to flap.

I had a Nismo and OEM one do it.

I have no idea if it was because of the the parallel injector setup or something else. Its worth to keep in mind tho. I plan on getting a smaller non-lead acid battery. and fitting the reg in the space made by the small battery.

You can free up some space with a filter relocation from Anti's thread http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?t=324634.

As Madcow suggested the fuel reg doesn't so much need to match your power level as your fuel pump, if you upgrade your pump you'll need the new reg but so long as you have the OEM pump running standard voltage the OEM reg is fine. No idea where the stock pump tops out.

if your running a fpcu reg will cope. once you go to bigger pump and you bypass the fpcu you will need aftermarket reg.,

i run nismo reg on mine.. very similar to stock just has adjustment knob on it :)

    keeps pressure in check

Why would you require an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator if the FPCU is bypassed, or the fuel pump is changed to a higher capacity unit?

I wouldn't expect the fpcu bypass to do it but bigger pumps flow more than the factory reg can return so you end up not being able to get down to the right pressure at idle.

Thanks a lot guys, The filter relocation looks aright. Either my FPCU is bypassed or I have bigger pump and bypassed. I haven't check yet. But it's running full speed all the time.
