So you all know I'm new to the 300zx. I have just bought one 2 weeks ago. It's a full jdm. I'm unsure if its twin turbo. It does have a twin turbo badge on the drivers side of motor but that could of been stuck there. How would I know and find out what it is?
open the engine bay... if it looks like this, it's twin turbo. if it looks like this, it's got no turbos.
Open your bonnet and look at the engine.... if it looks like the link below with only 2 intake pipes: https://www.google.com.au/search?q=300zx+twin+turbo+engine&espv=210&es_sm=93&biw=1366&bih=667&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=xS9uUrKECIWokQXgmoDoDA&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAQ#es_sm=93&espv=210&q=300zx+non+turbo+engine&tbm=isch&facrc=_&imgdii=_&imgrc=-F0W1LYPy46SCM%3A%3B2IwvZqlqNVJq0M%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.performance-car-guide.co.uk%252Fimages%252FL-Nissan-300ZX-Z32-Engine.jpg%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.performance-car-guide.co.uk%252Fperformance-cars%252F300zx.html%3B733%3B550 its not turbo if it looks like the below with 4 intake pipes http://www.google.com.au/imgres?sa=X&espv=210&es_sm=93&biw=1366&bih=667&tbm=isch&tbnid=XXKbSTc97SEdJM:&imgrefurl=http://www.carthrottle.com/carthrottle-asks-supra-turbo-vr-4-300zx-or-rx-7/&docid=Z0O5IFN1lfUZ4M&imgurl=http://cdn.carthrottle.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/Z32engine.jpg&w=640&h=480&ei=xi9uUvv1JsKDiwL8v4HYDw&zoom=1&ved=1t:3588,r:2,s:0,i:85&iact=rc&page=1&tbnh=180&tbnw=222&start=0&ndsp=17&tx=601&ty=214 its twin turbo
So the non-turbo had the battery mounted on the right side of the vehicle? Count the intake/boost pipes, if you have an extra set going down beside the throttle bodies you probably have turbos
This thread says you bought a twin turbo http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?t=327036 Soooooo.....I guess you have a twin turbo.
Thanks for your help. I've defs got the twin turbo. How would I go about putting rego on it cause its an original jdm?
Does it have compliance? Was it ever previously registered? Here you go. http://www.rms.nsw.gov.au/registration/getnewrego/index.html?riwid=new
