    Thank you again......

    Hear hear.....as you say!:)

At least I am old enough to know the word "Rambunctuous" and its contextual use in conversation.............unlike some of the younger whipper snappers!:D :D

Australia will always miss out on the "nicer" cars available out there due to our small market and the Government and fuel companies insistence on selling us sub-standard low octane fuel. Kudos to companies like Subaru that tried to import and sell full spec, non-detuned cars like the WRX in the early days only to be burnt by endless engine failures due to owners filling up with our then 91 octane regular Unleaded and blowing up their engine as a result of this penny pinching. :(

What makes me even madder is the car companies new trend of using overseas models to advertise cars here............the only hint of which we get is the small print at the bottom of newspaper adverts. or the 2 second flash of such information in the TV ads.

Lies, Cons and Deception I say!

a big problem is we only make up a tiny percentile of the market. though i really wish we could get better quality fuel, especially at the proce we pay. (though it hasn't been too bad lately.(in comparison))

From my perspective, none of that matters

For example, my best mate in the UK is an Aston Martin fanatic. He has a DB2, a DB4GT (in race trim), a DB7 and (after an 18 mth wait) his precious new DB9. He also has a 1951 Lagonda tourer (which has an Aston Martin engine) which is one of only 200 known existing examples and is probably worth more than all the rest put together.

Don't get me wrong, his cars are beautiful, and I love sitting in them, talking about them and driving them.

Forgetting the financial aspect, my friend is an Aston Martin man, and I love my Zeds. I am building the best possible example that I can and I will enjoy doing that, and I will enjoy the end result. Therefore all the "mine's bigger'n'yours" BS leaves me cold. Like that mind numbing Zed vs Soarer thread this week. I don't care how good/fast/sexy the Soarer is, I have a 300ZX and I love it, and I feel sorry for people who don't have one. I'm sure the Soarer people think the same. Good, there's room for everyone.

So if the new Skyline is 3.5 litre V6 with twin turbos and 300kw, I couldn't care less. Like that M5 that had a go at me the other day; he's got his car and I've got mine. If I want to write a big enough cheque, I can blow him and any one else away. That is very definitely not the point.

    Once again....hear hear Mr Bear!

Then you have the other side .......... who buy a family saloon (now there's a word from the past!) but then want to change it into a sports car. All the spoilers, wings, fat tyres and loud exhausts in the world will not make it a sports car............so why try?!?!?

I used to have quite a few fast Japanese cars including a Legacy GT-B4 and R33 GTR. These days I drive a Mercedes 190E and take the family out in my 8 seater Mitsubishi Delica. Neither will break the Land Speed Record nor do I attempt to spend mega dollars trying. I just save and save and soon.......I hope...........my 300ZX will be on the road and I will again have my fun!:D

Bear.....you should meet my cousin. He is head of Vehicle Operating for the Fox Car collection in Melbourne. Not many Aston Martins but a whole lot of nice other makes. Now that's a job!
