I sat here for a few minutes trying to figure out where to start with an informative answer outlining the MID4, the limitations and then lead up to why that's a ridiculous question, the best I got was this:

why not do this, its a good idea if you ask me, cleans up the engine bay and if they put it on there concept super car to compete with Ferrari's it must be good

again anti you dont understand all you can do is post pics with no real answer.... my point is that this plenum looks good and allows the engine bay to be cleaned up abit more.
how can you look at this style plenum and say its a dumb idea???

The standard inlet manifold with it's 'tuned length runners' appears to work well. Not sure how you'd go with the IACV and AAC stuff on the rear of the standard plenum and bringing that all across onto this new plenum. That and how does that twin throttle setup fit in in-front of the radiator fan and it's shrouding.
Good thought though. Getting rid of the standard plenum would go a long way to making the engine serviceable...

thanks big_al thats exactly what im wanting to do, keep the 2 tb and have more access to the engine, ill keep looking into it but with hardly any information on the mid4's engine its extremly hard... any info or pics on the mid4 2nd gen engine would help

It would be more feasible to make a mid engine Zed.

    Wondering if its possible...

Yes, it's possible, throw enough money at anything and you'll get what you want.

    Is it feasible? No.

Dude, the MID4 was a concept car. There was probably only 5 of them (or something lie that) made.

THATS WHY THE FACE PALMS. Plus the engine was a early model DET which had different shaped inlet ports.

See how the runners are round?

Way too much work for little or no gain. Why do you think nissan made the intake manifold as complex as it is? I'll give you a hint, it's not because they wanted to make it look complex and hard to work on.

Also, it's a concept car, there's probably 4 intake manifolds like that in the world and they would probably be worth more than a whole z32, good luck getting one.

If you want to bin the stock plenum, buy an 'off the shelf' large STB plenum from the states.

Different engine, cast plenum, pre-dated design to the z32 plenum, sorta taking a very expensive step backwards in time.

Unless your chasing HP in the 8000rpm+ bracket, or wanting to use a big single turbo, there is little case to be made for shortening the runner length in the z32.

I think the better question is:
Has anyone tried a mid-engine setup on the Z32?

The hatch design and the chassis shape just look like its meant for it.

Now, I'm not Martins biggest Fan, but this thread suggests to me that you have little, or no, engineering or designing skills what-so-ever(and you're a rude bastard).
Please indicate what you would do with the Clutch Fan in your updated version(as it would obviously do considerable damage to the Throttle-bodies that you insist on shoving down it's throat).:rofl::rofl: Now you GTFO!!
