I'd probably say that they'd be alright for a standard oil/filter change but you'll probably get charged 4 times what a normal mechanic would charge you. But as Mark said when it comes to some of the problems with the Zed's you'd need an expert's opinion just because they'll know what common things to look for. I go to Joe Imbesi of Top Choice Motors 0408 337 283 Or you can try him at his shop Top Choice Motors 900 Mount Dandenong Road Montrose 9728 6977 He's about 30 mins away from me but when you need an expert's opinion it's worth the trip.
A few choices There are few zed specialists in Melb. I personally use either Nissport or Joe Imbessi at Top choice motors... Anyway, as far as I know, the list is: Wallards Nissport Top Choice motors (speak to Joe) Z Shop... Do a search on any of those places for contact information. Cheers
Joe is leaving Top choice as off today, wont be up and running again for about 3 weeks, I spoke to him this morning.

He's not sure where he will be going atm. He said to me, that he would ring when he is set up, about two or three weeks. Thats all i know trav! bummer!
It's gonna depend on where you live... Wallards is in Bulleen, Nissport is in Braeside/Mordialloc, Z-Shop is in Glen Iris. So we've got north, south and central covered. Then there's Ultratune all over the place if you're brave enough! But keep track of where Joe goes... he IS the expert!
totally agree, what happend to me.. day after i got the car, a serious grinding noise started coming from under the hood. i bought it privately so no warranties etc. so i took it to nissan and booked it in. the mechanic came out to where i had parked it to hear the noise. after about 30seconds of looking blankly at the engine. he says " can you come back at 5 , will let you know whats wrong with it then" me being a trusting soel took a mental note of where the valves on the tires were in relation to the road. went back at 5, nissan mechanic say it would be your timing belt, and that will cost $3500 to do the timing belt service. paid the $80 for the quote and went back to the car.. sure enough it was in exactly the same spot i left it... check the valve's sure enough the car handnt been moved. and the engine was as cold as stone. F*ckers took my $80 and did nothing at all. so being stone age X V8 guy , i thought id tackle the zed myself turned out to be a busted aircon unit. that was 5 years ago. to this day no mechaninc has ever touched my zed, everything i do myself, only using machining shops for the things that you cant do at home.
NNNNOOOOOOO!!!!! Avoid Ultratune!!! Trust me, and learn from my mistake! By the time I pulled my car from them, I reckon the bill was going to hit $1,000 for what turned out to be PTU failure. ($290 part, 10 minutes to replace)
Joe will be spending a bit of time in my Garage over the coming weeks. :biggrin: Between the Zed and the Mustang I've got a few projects to take care of, but work is so busy I don't have enough time to do them my self.
Give Andrew a try He's in Hallam working trucks atm. He worked at Nissport with Joe for years and really knows his stuff. You will have to be patient with him tho, coz he's busy, so send a text and he will give you a call back when he can. He's a really nice bloke and really helpful. Never does anything without letting you know. I've been to z shop, wallards and nissport, and other than Joe, i wouldn't trust anyone else to touch my zed. Mobile: 0438 386 478
