If both these cars were done up with full body kits and modifications, what do you think would:1) Look Better 2) Be More Powerful 3) Last Longer (longer life span)
Answers...>>> 1. Impossible to answer because people have different tastes. Personally I like the look of the new celica but I prefer the lines of my Z. Thats the reason I bought it. I considered the new Celica for a little while.2. No contest, the celica is a whimp. Doesnt have the grunt. Its a play engine for a low income "sports car" IMO. Not total crap, just lacking in HP, especially because your talking about "with mods". Im not sure what rwhp the celica can put out, but z can easily be modified to put out 500+ rwhp, there is no way the celica can match that.3. ZX will last longer taking into account its actualy year of manufacture. Remember most Z's are 12 years old already and still going great. I doubt the celica will be travelling as well in 12 years. They are simply not built, and not priced at the same region the z was 12 years ago.
In support of point 3 > A mate of mine bought the late model Celica, it was less than a year old when he purchased it. He then fitted some 18 inch rims and lowered it, not long after the car developed a crack in the chassis! He now owns a new SS ute after trading in the Celica, which he only held onto for around 6 months.
You guys missed the point though a 12 year old Z vs. a brand new Celica.... the Celica will do much, much better in terms of reliability etc for the next 5 - 10 years, after that it will even out and depend on the condition of the 2 vehicles.Ben
Na Zed would still kick the celica, From memory the celica is something like a 2 liter, 4 cyl, NA. Compare that to a 3 ltr V6, however the celica holds the weight advantage, but as Zisluv said, they are a poor mans sports car, for people who want a new car, but can't afford a GTR
if anything.. the zed should win out of style points.. as much as I support the opinions of celica fans out there, theres something very commanding about the styling of a zed, a very sleek car.yeah. that and its quicker.
new celica actually only 1.8L its good that its a 6 speed manual, but the revs at 110km/h is 3000 while the Zed is 2900. And they were probably in 6th!I read an article saying it was 180hp (bragging about being 180hp being 1.8L)the one think i hate about the new look is the back lights. They look so out of place. The Zed looks nice when its stock, but these celicas need some serious ricing up to look good IMO. Plus the price tag of $43000 for a 1.8L car seems a bit of a rip off. Also, the mag said '0-100 in 8 seconds' then said something about beating most people at the lights.
LoL yeah.... they want to make the ricers think that they will be top stuff, But it is really sad to see that Ricers are starting to get coverage and attention, There is an article about a riced out civic, in this monts autosaloon mag, and its been done in a fashion that makes the driver look like some great guy, but he has a civic with, V-tec, type R, mugen, TRD, Nismo, and mitsubishi stickers on it, when you see the owner its clear that there isn't any lights on upstairs
check out www.everythingcelica.com same question was asked herehttp://www.ecelica.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=7;t=000416#000004the guy asking them is from my brother who is a big celica fan. Each to there own I guess
Didnt miss the point...>>> I knew what he was asking but I figured the question on which is more reliable, a 12-13 year old car or a brand new one, was a little silly to answer. So instead I pointed out that after 12 years the z's are mostly still like new aside from a few parts that obviously must wear, which I dont think the celica will manage to do.
Celica = Hair Dresser Mobile! Sad but True...:-0 Sorry if I've offened any hair dressers, but anyone who's seen by hair knows I don't use em much....
