would the 555cc injectors be big enough to be able to produce 400rwkw ? or would you have to go 620cc ?

i think the rule of thumb is to divide injectors size in cc by 5, then multiply by number of cylinders to give max power output in horsepower.

so for 555cc injectors we have:

    555 % 5 = 111
    111 x 6 = 666

so 666 horses at the engine. nice number ey? so ~500 kW, or around 400 rwkW.

if you're aiming for that amount, you would however probably be better off going for the 620cc (which injectors come in 620 cc?) for safety margin.

thanks, 666hp would suit me fine, i might have been thinking about 650cc injectors, the sard ones
    cheers

i thought you only had to get colars

for SARD and other brand injectors... i am under the impression that the NISMO ones are bolt on, as they are made by the manufacturer of our car, for our cars, you would think they would fit without any extra modification...

nismo injectors 555's are bolt on 100% you just have 2 make sure you get the correct ones either purple for 89 to 94, yellow 94 onwards ... simple.. you cant use a newer style on a older plenum (no point aswell)

I can see this thread confusing many people...

You are right storm, the Nismo 555 injectors are a direct swap & fit in the stock fuel rail with NO modifications required :)

EDIT: Yeah what he said above me

    safty first

Stock injectors for VG30DETT is top feed 370cc. At 3 bar fuel pressure, they max out around 350rwhp or 400bhp. More power might be realized by raising fuel pressure, and the same could be said for the 555's.
    Nismo injectors.

555cc injectors are good for 500-530rwhp safely at stock fuel pressure.
    720cc and 740cc are good for 700+rwhp.

    Sard 650cc > nismo 555cc

I have some sard 650cc's that i might be putting up for sale, i'll sell them at my purchase cost minus shipping cost - anyone interested?

I grabbed them when greenline had them on special ~$650 so I'd sell them for $600 since i gotta spend a bit more than that to get my 800cc's (the difference in price plus shipping)

you will need collars for each injector, which are about $70 each ($420 but shipping on them would be almost nothing) - you can buy them new from greenline - alternatively, tektrader had them cloned and machined up for a very cheap price (i'm guessing but it was something like $100 for the set of 6) so if you guys do a GB on the sards, or see if Graham has any left, or if he can do another production run on them, you can do the same and save a lot of moolah

reason for sale, is that i'm going to need the 800cc injectors for my turbo upgrades - 650cc is just on the borderline and i don't want to run lean

these injectors are still in the box, not been taken out for longer than 5 seconds literally (i'm anal about taking care of my upgrade parts)

for more info on the nismo 555cc's, just to stir the pot, read up here:

And read this one, there is a reason why we went for sard's instead of nismo's

Guys on TTnet talking about the nismo's

Sorry to put a damper on the GB, but you guys should be doing the GB on the Sards imho

    Interesting

but inconclusive. Many sets off 555's (purple tops for 89-94 zeds) have been sold to zed owners worldwide? Thousands at very lest! It seems that most off the failures occurred in the US where ethanol blended fuel is a fact off life. The jury is in (read, me) on ethanol-blended fuel; it kills injectors and dose not discriminate. Readers off ttnet will not be surprised by this revelation at all, injector failure would seem commonplace there.

    Inconclusive? Of course it is.

Regardless, there is a cloud over them in terms of reliability.

Anyways, I thought I'd raise awareness a bit because it looks like you guys haven't done much research on it. We did a bit, and you can search to find our conclusions - in the end this is what we decided was the best answer for the GT28R turbo's (or anyone looking for those kind of power levels)

keep on topic, get the discussions in Z related, or the EOI... any word on a greenline price strom ye old scrote?

and yes ethanol does destroy injectors.. nothing new there

    Ethanol

was only brought up because off a perceived issue with nismo 555 injectors in the US that was linked to this thread. Its very unlikely 555's would have built in faults, its possible, but remote.Everyone knows ethanol kills injectors, except our US counterparts. :D

  19. venom injectors

Just wondering if anyone has used the venom injectors for sale on ebay, and why everyone is after nismo ones instead?

    WazTTed Grease Monkey

on topic, this is a GB thread for nismos, search "venom" here or on tt.net they are a load of cr*p use them if you want but they will fail
