It's rated to around 670hp/493kW, but it's said to be underrated as there's an Evo 9 that pulled 750rwhp with this turbo. I should see full boost (25lbs or so) at around 3,800-4,000rpms. With agressive cams and ported heads it will push the powerband out to around 7,000-7,200rpms so it will be the perfect balance for the 3.0L.

It's nearest Garrett equivalent is the GT3582R, but makes more power whilst being a tad less repsonsive. The interesting thing is that the actual size is almost the same...

It fits in the stock location (SOHC) so no need for custom manifolds. I went with the .63A/R just to keep it really snappy. If that ends up limiting the maximum power output, they have a .68 and .82 alternative which is an easy swap.

You'll see alot more Precision Turbo vehicles kicking around in Australia, as we've only just recently got a local supplier. If you want to run twins you could probably go with the PT5557 which is slightly bigger than a Garrett GT3071R or HKS GT2835 with a power rating of 570hp! Two of them would be badass....

    Here's an S15 (SR20) running the PT6765 (Rated to 900hp/670kW) which is basically a T04Z.

Bitchin' turbo! That is all!

Pricing for the PT6765 and PT6262? Also their maps?

They're not too pricey, well actually they are... lol

I paid $1,845 for the 6262 not including the V band kit and oil drain. The 6765 is $2,350 but that is a real meaty turbo but would be a bit laggy on the 3.0L but still reasonable. Full boost prolly by 4,400rpms with the ball bearing option. They also have journal bearing turbos but I wouldn't bother personally. Ceramic BB is the go and even more so not needing water lines.

Apparently Precision Turbo dont do compressor maps, the only information I've been able to find as to why is a quote:

From information I have sourced the compressor ratings are something like 6262 68lbs/min and 6765 77-80lbs/min. As a comparison the GT35R with .82A/R housing is about 65 lbs/min.

Impressed by the sr20 in the s13. You can certainly hear the turbo come on, than the engine squealing its bits off pumping that much pressure.

I presume there is no data out there referring to heat soak. And general heating problems due to no cooling lines? Its like a step forward with a step back set of technology.

Shall have to just return to my little simple NA world now.

    Thanks for sharing!

It's basically air and oil cooled only, so it's certainly a step forward thanks to the ceramic ball bearings...

Here's a run down on the information I was sent from the guys at Precision because I (along with my machinist) was skeptical at first aswell!

Just think of how many Z's out there that have had thier brains cooked out due to leaking turbo coolant lines! No more of that! Not to mention the reduction in complexity by not having to run shitty coolant lines all over the place.

That is awesome. There is a guy on the MR2OC site running a PT6262 on his 3SGTE, which is badass. Is this the Billet wheeled version?
When do Garrett release their GTX range? Did you consider the Borg Warner extended tip turbo's or weren't they big enough?

Sorry I dont know what I didn't check back into this thread for a month, but yes it's the billet wheel version. It looks amazing in person, pictures dont really do it justice at all. I'm pretty sure the GTX range is already available from Garrett if you contact them directly. The problem with sourcing them locally without ordering them in is that most places still have all their old sh!t lying around... I didn't really look at Borg Warner but they are still a quality turbo manufacturer.

    Here's some new shots of the dummy fit with the old engine just to measure clearances;

It fits awesome in the stock location, I was suprised.

Spy my big mofo turbosmart wastegate! :)

    Benny_C About as subtle as...

I also spy a dirty big oil stain underneath too. Looks fresh.

But yeah, that's one hell of a turbo! and handy it fits in stock location, saves a LOT of extra work for relocation! lol.

Yeah you'll get a few oil patches when you dump the oil lines from the factory turbo! ;)

There's still a bit of custom fab work needed to plumb the wastegate into the manifold but not a huge amount of work. I'll probably go with tubular manifolds later anyway though!

Interesting. I looked at a few options for my 33 build including that one but decided to keep the GT35R but with a twin scroll .82 back housing for the present. Horses for courses though, for sprints big acceleration from 3500-4000rpm up to 7000 is what you want with these motors. Let us know how the Precision goes, both on the dyno and off.
