Yeah, but skirts can be overdone

and make you look like you are trying too hard. That's just my opinion for my car, you have to drive it, so do what makes you smile.A nice set of coilovers goes a long way to getting that 'perfect' ride height too (hint hint) Ride height always gets more bang for bucks than kits IMHO. Look at any nice stock ride that has been lowered with rims and you'll get what I mean. After that, if money permits, go crazy with 'glass :D

ok dub my plan was this.........

to find a zed didnt care what configuration but at 11750 this was a good buy, yes it has a few shopping trolley dints but im a spray painter so its all good, its getting a full respray sometime after october and flow coated in clear just to get the look im after. I want to lower it and add a front bar but after that im lost, not blowing the trumpet but theres still a few more GG's in the kitty to spend on the sucker after all this is done,i'm 37 this year and vowed this would be the last car i pumped buckets of money into, as for the skirts your right they do overdo it so ill forget that idea( didnt take much convincing)
On anoither topic tt zeds are all the rage im tossing up wether to spend the cash on a supercharger just to do something diferent? any ideas on this?

Funny you should mention that idea...

I was thinking about this myself a while back as I like the look of polished alloy poking out of the bonnet. Doesnt have to be a bug catcher'd 6/71 but even an Eaton rear feeder will suffice in this situation. (Might even fit under the bonnet with a bit of massaging?) However you have the problem of having to lower compression to suit the boost, (well, any DECENT boost)and stengthen up the bottom end. Why bother when a TT motor with the turbos pulled off it would be PERFECT!? Get's rid of all that hose-ware in the engine bay, exposes the rocker covers paving the way for some more polished alloy and detailing. You get to pull off that great big mass of upper intake plenum, plus you can delete most of that wiring/vacuum hoses used in the turbo system. Just get a plate made up that bolts onto the lower intake plenum and work up from there! Use something like a Wolf 3d to manage it all too. You'll get boost almost off idle, and be totally unique!

hmm ok now im thinking this over.....

its not about whats practical but whats possible and unique.... admitedly it would take about 6 to 10k plus i figure to do anywere near a half decent job... time to do some serious research..

Its really not feasible, will cost you a lot

this has been bought up a lot on ttnet, I suggest doing a search there. Basically to get one to fit under the bonnet then you have to get rid of your a/c system. One person I know of has done it and the results were basically unimpressive and the costs were huge. Unless you do all the engine work yourself and all the fabricating of parts etc I couldnt see you managing it for 10k. The power you get will be slightly better than an NA and the costs will be 2-3x more than just putting in bigger turbos.

    For smooth side skirts...>>

Go for the Stillen type III skirt. Don't bother with the door filler, just sand the stone guard off before you paint the doors:-Z Click Here to see the ttzed web page

Cant say Ive actually tried it....

its just that it does come up every second week or so on ttnet (www.twinturbo.net). One guy reckons he can fit it without losing the a/c but this is yet to be seen or heard about again. I think his nick is boozted or something similar if you want to email him about it.

Funny thing is I mentioned going up

through your bonnet, not having an underbonnet blower.
It IS feasable, as all boost is just that, boosted air going into a motor. It's rediculous to assume that because someone has failed then it is not achievable. Put the blower in your engine vally and you will lose nothing except your plenum, and all that turbo hosing. Don't try to super-charge an NA, just start with a TT as it is built for boosted intake charge. Cams would have to be modded to allow for the linear boost but someone who actually understands all forms of internal combustion supercharging tell me why this can't be achieved?

    call me a newbie...............

ok ive admired zeds from afar for a long time longer than i care to admit, but now finaly owning one is a whole new ballgame.
my old commodore that i built from a bare shell was something different (pics below) it's just my way .<P>Now that i own a zed i was looking for something diferent with it as well, having said you have about 600 plus neddies at the rear wheels i respect your comments as a person who is in the know on all things zx.
In all reallity i might look into a front cut from a tt and just build a transplant for it or as mebtioned to me run a single turbo. Once again thanks Nathan .[image]http://members.getonit.net.au/grim/Car1.jpg[/image][image]http://members.getonit.net.au/grim/Car2.jpg[/image]
