    I doubt that it is

    there as a crush shield.
If so, then with the open ends it would be ripped off the first time it hit something.
If it was a crush shield, it should have blended in at the leading edge & not have about a 12mm gap where it could catch onto the first thing that crazed or hit it.
From what I have been told, they are heat shields.
Obviously something to think about when those that have bought them have them fitted.
    Cheers

A man after my own heart....

Hey... this is very similar to the exhaust Im acquiring bit by bit... :zlove:

Im on the current PZP dump and front pipe GB, on Rob's Metal cat GB, on Rob's UAS Resonator GB.... I wish I was on the Magnaflow muffler GB but cash is running out due to the above... I will also get a couple of new O2's from Caz in the not to distnant future..... probably looking to have it all together and get it assembled in November....

Great post and pics... nice to know this setup flows well and gives good gains.....

    This could hurt...

Part of me doesn't want to know, but part of me already knows deep down roughly how much it cost, so for the greater good...

TuneAgent Dump Pipes 2.5" (Forum GB) = $259
    MetalCats 2.5" (Forum GB) = $560
    UAS Stainless Steel 2.5" X-Pipe = $481
    O2 Sensors from Caz (2x $89) = $178
RACE canons and Super Dynamics tips = $660 (a bargain!)
Installation = $1500 (this included 15 mandrel bends at $35 each!)

    Total Cost = $3638

Now you see why it took me a year to collect all the parts I wanted at the best prices I could get! Certainly was well worth it!!! :zlove:

I'll have to look into that. Rob260 might know (I organised the Metalcats GB through him).

Anyone who'd heard my old exhaust knows that it was a real droner. This one at idle sounds almost silent to me in comparison, but others have commented on the nice idling note. Love the sound when you put the foot down - have even taken to turning off the CD player and winding down the windows just to hear it! :zlove:

    How much should labour cost...???

1500 for assembly??? WTF?? Im looking at getting and exhaust slapped together by someone in Brisbane also, what has everyone else paid to get their exhaust put in? (ignoring parts, just the labout and maybe a little tubing/mandrel bending)

Well, when you're looking at 8-10 hours of labour at $99 an hour, plus the mandrel bending, it adds up.

That's excessive! Next time find a shop who actually has their own mandrel bender and doesn't have to weld every singal piece! You used to be able to get a full extractors back 2" single system with muffler, cat and resonator in stainless for around $1000.

And a $100/hr is a bit rich for something a (well) trained monkey can do.

I got my exhaust system done at the Muffler Shop in Stones Corner, recommended to me by Pete from AMEC. The system on my 89T looks basically identical to that quality wise besides the obvious differences (single exhaust) and I was very pleased with the quality. I supplied my own cat and muffler, and had the whole 3" system from the turbo back made up in around 4 hours. At the end of the day it cost me only $500 which is exactly what they quoted me over the phone without even seeing the car. It was the first Z31 system they'd done too. I would imagine a dual exhaust would be around double that, taking into account a few extra flanges and other junk needed. But then I'd need two mufflers and two cats aswell! Wow what a headache, single big ass turbo ftw! lol

Great looking system though, and for that sort of money it'd wanna be!
