Hey had my Z shuddering on morning to took it to a family friend mechanic and he did test and found no compression in one of the pistons. Now i got a phonecall to say it would probably be cheaper to get a new engine put in. Just wondering how i'd go about this moneywise as im just a first year apprentice. Second hand engine swap? It's a non turbo btw. Any help greatly aprpeciated.

They regularly pop up on here. Worth keeping an eye out. As for cost, depends who you get to do the job. I do this type of stuff myself so I won't be much help in that regard. Where abouts in VIC are you? Few people on here around Melbourne that do this sort of work for others and can give you a more accurate figure.
