Hey had my Z shuddering on morning to took it to a family friend mechanic and he did test and found no compression in one of the pistons. Now i got a phonecall to say it would probably be cheaper to get a new engine put in.

Just wondering how i'd go about this moneywise as im just a first year apprentice. Second hand engine swap?
    It's a non turbo btw.
    Any help greatly aprpeciated.

Yep 2nd hand engine. Make sure whatever you get has been compression tested.

Ok i thought that'd be it.
Thanks i will look into it.
Any advice on where to get one from and an estimate of how much it would be?
Thankyou very much for your help.

They regularly pop up on here. Worth keeping an eye out. As for cost, depends who you get to do the job. I do this type of stuff myself so I won't be much help in that regard.
Where abouts in VIC are you? Few people on here around Melbourne that do this sort of work for others and can give you a more accurate figure.
