Got my car back today after a new clutch, pressure plate, machined flywheel, thrust bearing, master cylinder, slave cylinder etc etc and a gearbox full of fresh Redline Lightweight Shockproof. Had the centre bearing replaced at the same time just for good measure.

I can't believe how good the car is now - no more rubbery clutch pedal, no more clutch shudder and you don't need a left leg like Godzilla to depress the clutch pedal.

For Adelaide Z owners Unley Nissan did the job and I can't fault the work.

Total cost approx $1800 but it was worth it.

    Softer Pedal

I put stock standard parts in - the previous owner must have put in a aftermarket clutch of some kind or the hydrolics weren't working too good.

ohhh i was thinking, hell 1800 aint too bad... but all stock parts, is your car a NA? why not get a HD clutch of some sort, prolly installed previously to handle the power properly.

curious about upgrading clutches and stuff, wonder how many people done their own.

    Keeping it stock

Yes it's an N/A and I'm going to keep it as close to stock as possible so I figured a standard clutch would suffice - after all the Nissan engineers would have designed the clutch for the rated power of the engine - right?

I LOVE the softer clutch pedal, I'm no weakling but it's a helluva lot easier to drive around town now.

I enjoy cars an don't mind doing minor jobs but I had a whole bunch of work done and it was just easier to get someone else to do it - plus the warranty means if anything goes wrong they get to fix it and not me :)

    Cheers

i did my own.. not rocket science.. just make sure you get the flywheel machined if not changing it for a lightweight option.. or clutch shudder will bring nightmares to your sleepless nights as you think of having to take that bloody box off again for the 50 dollar job.. (made that mistake once many years ago)
