Front or back sets should be the same Brand/tyre/size, because all brands are not the same,

Yep! Both front tyres should be a pair(and both rear tyres should also be a pair)as different brands/tread patterns may have vastly different handling/grip qualities.

is the tread pattern the same? if so it should be OK to use untill they need replacing.

Its legal as long as left and right match - front and back doesn't matter.

(I have Eagle F1's on the front and Maxxis MA-V1's on the rear on mine)

It's written on the outside of the tyre. The actual physical dimension doesn't always relate exactly to the tyre size.

ok so when they said Nankang 235 40 R18 95H M+S will be the same with Nexen N3000 235 40 ZR18? i just don't want got yellow sticker because the ticknese are different.

That is the same tyre size. I am not 100% up to speed with NSW requirements, but in QLD on each axle (so front set or rear set) you must have the same size tyre with the same type of manufacture. So cross ply or radial and you can't mix them. All modern passenger tyres are radial.

I would expect it is legal, but less than ideal.
