Hi, I have tried to find a front bar for a Z32 and it seems the only place I can get it from is carmate, which is very expensive.

was wondering if my damaged Vielside C2 front bar can be fixed instead of replaced. I have attached an image here to show the current state of my front bar:

    and another angle here:

As you can see, the bottom lip is missing.

On a normal VS C2 front bar it should look like this:

Can the bottom lip be made from a fibreglasser, or can it be bought from anywhere?

I'm sorry you have a damaged Z, but in my opinion that bar just got exactly what it deserves(it's about the worst design of any aftermarket front bar available for a Z32).
Seriously, that bar will devalue your car more than any other single reason imaginable. Do your car(and yourself)a HUGE favour and buy another style of bar, you won't regret it in the long run.

Believe me I want to change it too, but I cant afford it atm, so I need a quick fix bottom lip or something, and then I am going to do a whole new front bar and full car re-spray at the end of this year.

    chili being nice!

    Love your work mate!

This man speaks the truth. Check out the for sale section for a cheap bar. will cost you almost as much to repair that veilside bar as get a 2nd hand one (going without seeing your pics)!

lol that bar looks better without the lip... and damaged...

on a serious note however, I agree with chili's post, also prob just as economical to find a cheap 2nd hand bar than repairing it I would imagine. Good luck with it!

Im thinking, give it a miss, it doesnt even align with your guards.

Try Gepps cross wreckers, i know they can price parts like they're plated in gold. But check there for a good cond 2nd/3rd/15th/4000th hand bar. Last time i checked with them, it was very reasonably priced for a complete bar including lights.

aha i see your passenger side guard its bent mate, i had similar problem with my veilside, i just had a bent guard went to panel beaters and they bent it back to normal. Thats why its not properly aligned. And after that i had a perfect looking veilside bar. I know a guy in sydney who sells the veilside front bar and bottom. Piece he would sell you that bottom part for about $100.

Is your car lowered, did you have problems getting over speed hump or dips on the road. When you had the bottom piece of did it usally scrape the ground. I think you need to raise your suspension so it wont smack the ground.

When I first got the bar, it was pretty low so I had it cut, which gave it some height. I never really hit bumps much although it was still very possible.

There is a shop down here who said he can get it for $220, just the bottom lip. So that guy in melbourne for $100 sounds good, but cost for shipping here might become close to what I can get it here for.

Are you on stock suspension how big are your wheels, Your going to need atleast 18 inch rims and get some new standard coils, so it raise the height. So it wont touch smack dips in roads or speed humps, I live in sydney, i know a guy who owns a warehouse, he stocks bodykits for almost every import car out there.

I like the veilside bar and alot of my friends reckon it gives it a mean look. The bottom piece aint that big and id reckon it would not cost that much to ship over to SA. If you want i can give you his number.

he didnt say to ship over a whole bar, only bottom lip piece. Besides it only costs about $60 to ship a full bar from NSW to SA, according to carmate.com.au.

I like VS bars, and fitted one on my supra, but the VS C2 should have never been created. Do your zed a favour and buy a stock bar. It will probably work out cheaper and you'll end up with a better looking zed.
Don't listen to your mates saying it looks good. They're having you on and laughing behind your back.

    lol! laughing behind my back.

Anyways I think I have decided to order the bottom lip from carmate, they quoted me $280 for it, plus $50 delivery to my area. I think this will be the cheapest option for me, because if I got a whole new bar, I would have to look at an extra $400-500 for fitting painting, so getting the bottom lip piece I should be able to install myself and or should cost no where near as much for fitting painting.
