    Hi all,

I bought myself a 53mm KOYO radiator from Coz recently and need to ask a few questions.

I am fairly sure that it will not just slot straight in as the mounting points are different between the NA and TT for their respective radiators. How are the brackets fixed to the chassis? Are they welded or bolted in? (Cant' check atm cos it is pissing down with rain :p  )

From memory JEDI-77 was fitting/has fitted a PWR twin pass to his NA. Any help mate?

I gather I also need to get hold of a TT fan shroud too (post in wanted thread). Is there anything else I should know before going ahead? Are the radiator caps the same? Will the top 1 pce bracket (supplied from Coz too) fit with an NA or will I need to get fancy with that too?

    Cheers

Why did you get a tt radiator ? wasnt the stock n/a one cooling enough

Chrispy also retro fitted a TT rad to his NA.

    It can be done.

I upgraded mine to a PWR na one, so i didnt need to modify anything but when i was taking a look, the bottom mounting holes didnt look like they would be impossible to move, just a bit of imigination.

    Give it a shot.

have a lookie at the MWS website NA-->TT conversion videos. they show how to do it properly in there. they drill out the spot welds with engine out then cleanup, reposition and reweld in correct spot.

if i ever do a NA-->TT swap, i will be asking around all those that have half cut leftover to see if i can scavange. then since i'm not handy with a welder and cant be bothered removing the old ones, i will just pop rivett new ones in correct place and paint. okay maybe i will remove the old ones but only with engine out. good luck. also you may need to blank the space either side of the TT radiator otherwise the the air will just bypass you nice 53mm radiator:eek:

    good luck please post results?

    this is what I did...

if you dont want to cut and reweld the original mounting points, you will have to make an adapter bracket as I did (see pic below)...

Essentially I got a long piece of metal and puts some long bolts in it at the locations where they would slot straight into the NA mounting points. These have rubber grommets around them so the bolt heads dont foul against the bottom of the radiator..... Then, at the very ends of the metal bracket I drilled some holes and placed some rubber gromets, so the lugs on the bottom of the radiator would slot straight into them. So then, metal bracket with bolts sits nicely in the NA mounting points, and then the radiator slots nicely into the bracket. It is firm, and the radiator does not move. Its not hard to make, just lots of measuring and cutting, then remeasure and more cutting until its perfect.

I also had to make a custom radiator bracket for the top, but thats another story.

I have a Koyo 53mm TT radiator from Coz in my Aus Spec NA. I had Mark(Jedi) and Chrispy help me also. The difference between teh PWR and the Koyo is the mounting on the bottom of the radiator is different.

Let me explain. The pin holes are as Mark has explained, but the Koyo isnt flat on the bottom, so I had to bend the bracket that I made.

I dont have my imaging software on the PC im using athm, so here is a basic diagram using the keyboard to show what I mean...

    KOYO.___________________________PWR

I hope this helps. I just bought myself a small offcut of metal for like $6 and bent the metal myself and bought a few metal drill bits that were the right soze for the pins to fit in on the radiator, and then bought some nuts and bolts to hold onto the stock mounting points on the side :)

Nothing wrong with the NA radiator (new top tank on it and cooling well), just looking towards future upgrades (*cough* SuperZed *cough cough* ;) :zlove: )

I am going to have to weigh up whether to cut and weld (I can weld a little, but it won't be pretty   ) or to go the bottom bracket (and modify your design to suit the KOYO one).

So the 1 pce bracket that I got will not fit then? It looks so bling though :zlove:

I have decided I will chisel out the mount points, move and re-weld them. Will need to get some measurements from a TT when I get a chance to make sure I get it right (or could just guess and hope  lol ).

Will make it so I can use my bling 1pce bracket too :zlove:

    Cheers
