My na 300zx cranks over many times before its starts especially when cold or sitting for a few hours ,there is a fuel smell and high idle can anyone help me??I only get around 300km to a tank slow driving,i have done a plenum pull at brytech changed o2 sensors .Who knows how to repair these vehicles in Melb????
Firstly, your in the wrong section Secondly, have a search around the forum regarding Bryan...it could explain why you are having issues. There are members like Wildzx (Noel) or Tektrader (Graham) that are very knowledgable about zeds in VIC. Maybe contact them & see if they have time to have a look at it. Pm me your number and address and i can come over & see if i can help with anything..I'm just in Bundoora. Abraham
sounds like it could have some leaky injector Orings, flooding the engine after its been sitting for a while.
Might be worth enabling diagnostic mode on the ECU as well.. Check tech section under ECU -> "ECU Diagnostic Procedures (Article 2)" Recently I had trouble starting my Z, turns out my PTU connections where heavily corroded. A ECU error code gave me a hint where to look. Also look around fuel hoses/connections see if you can spot any wet points where fuel is leaking. I normally get around 400k with my NA even with a minor fuel leak in hoses, so something must be pretty wrong. Be good if you can find someone with a conzult interface to do a general check over as well.
Definately fuel leaking somewhere There is none when it starts - hence why it takes a while to crank over. Do a pinch test on rubber hose lines to confirm location of leak first - helps if you have a fuel pressure gauge i.e. pinch inlet hose then outlet hose then both given plenum change - could be injector o -rings or seats but you should see this before putting the rail back in as the injectors wont sit flush if not fitted properly might be leaking from the rail connection hose as well - is the smell forward on the plenum or elsewhere? I just had a similiar problem (after a plenum change - lol - just to confuse me)which turned out to be an internal leak in the regulator itself (aftermarket) which is also uncommon/ rare - lol simply narrow down the location first.
Hi mate i really appreciate your help i am overseas till the 15 oct My name is Emmanuel i will pm you my number and once again thanks
its strange bryan said he check injectors orings in the plenum pull i doubt he did anything thanks for your help
I m fighting a similar issue. I figured out that if i turn the key and let the fuel pump prime the system then the z starts easier. I am thinking its a fuel pressure problem, related to the FPR. Check for codes too
