My Z makes a weid noise when i press the brake...

It is inside the cab, sounds like a flash charging up (high pitch squel going up in pitch). It never happened before, now it is every time I press the brake?

 

Sorry if its an obvious answer, but is it the wear indicators on the pads?

 

yeh my immidiate thoughts were the wear indicators also

check the inside pad (the one closest to the chasis) to see how much meat is left

 

Does it only happen when you press the pedal hardish?

And does it sound like the noise is coming from in front of you?

If so then just dump one of Chilis braces on and it'll fix it up 100%.

I had that problem and the brace fixed it up.

 

Pushing Brake Pedal Hard makes wooshing noise

You wouldn't believe me, but just a few hours ago this very thing happened to me for the first time, when driving from the shops with the kids in the car (you know showing off a tad). I thought it may be a vacuum leak or something - it only happens when I push really hard on the brake and there is this wooshing noise, like the sound of releasing gas or something...

So applying a master cylinder brace will fix this problem hey?... Well another part to add to the wish list.

Never heard a whooshing noise before..

Mine made a squeeling noise that sounded like some animal was being tortured or something, I'm no expert and don't know what the cause was but the brace fixed it up.

Whooshing noise sounds scary, no idea what it is.

 

Chili Braces are good, but I make no claims in respect to these posts.

I have no idea what you guys have experienced, but my money would have been on the wear indicators on the front pads. That certainly won't be cured by a Chili Brace (but if it is, then you all owe me more money).:LOL::LOL:

i think my brakes make a similar noise to yours.

but happens when i apply the break softly,
eg, when car is rolling slightly in neutral etc.

new brake pads :wacko: ?

it is a good description of the problem, also louder the harder you hit it!

Where do i get a chili brace form and what sort of $$?.

Car is still brakes great, brake fluid level is spot on and is good colour, so doubt the seal is stuffed.
