But a large proportion of the good stuff was removed before sale. The NA known as LOWZX might have the same VIN as the one sold but its not the same as it was when it was his main car. Hence why that NA now probably has my stock exhaust on it.
If people where prepared to pay a reasonable price that was even vaguley representative of the value of the aftermarket parts on a car. They would find a lot of improvments would be left on any car for sale. BUT they wont, so the only way to recover anywhere close to the cost of building many modded cars is to strip the good parts away and revert to stock. Simon did what I would do faced with the probability of losing many thousands of dollars selling a modded car. I spoke to him a few weeks ago and the parts he removed/swapped out where worth over 5K. Faced with losing that much cash he did what he had to and still sold a very good car. This is what I have been saying about the red car you have been busily modded to sell Stuey. You wont get all that money back on selling it.
very true. wen i had my car advertised i still had thousands of new parts waiting to go on the car. there was no way i was going to sell the car with those new parts fitted. even with the mods i had still no one was prepaired to pay so ive kept it and im throwing everything at it to make it something ive always wanted... only way to sell a zed these days is either stock or modded nicely but be prepaired to loose shit loads.
Yea Im not saying what Simon did was wrong, it was totally the the right thing to do in his case, however 95% of the membership wouldnt have known and assumed it was sold as we knew it. Im just making that point clear. The red car doesnt quite fit into this category as the build has some strategy behind it.
